Pretty cool, interesting that Jedi Knights apparently get a Sith Lord companion, wonder what the story behind that is.

Same here. I'm curious if it'll happen during the story of the player. Or if it's part of his back story and you'll have to find out why/how it happened.

Although I'm probably uninformed, I've been wondering if there's ever any reason not use a companion while soloing ? do you get any sort of penalty by using them ? or miss out on some progression of some type ?
 
Basically why I'm asking is that it if you can always run around with a heal-bot companion there's never ever gonna be any risk at all while solo'ing. Or on the other hand you're gonna be in a situation where everything is balanced around having a companion helping you, and you're forced to use them (making every class into a pet class).

Bounty hunters get a Jawa and its a ranged tank I never thought of Jawas Tanks.
