Star Wars: The Old Republic is a massively-multiplayer role-playing game set 300 years after the events of BioWare's Knights of the Old Republic series, but still approximately 3,600 years before the events of the films.
BetaCake put up a complete list of companions for SWTOR with pictures. Seems like each class has a male and female human, but they do get fairly interesting with various races and such. As someone planning on playing a Imperial Agent, I'm psyched a Rakghoul will be a companion.

Same here. I'm curious if it'll happen during the story of the player. Or if it's part of his back story and you'll have to find out why/how it happened.
Although I'm probably uninformed, I've been wondering if there's ever any reason not use a companion while soloing ? do you get any sort of penalty by using them ? or miss out on some progression of some type ?
Basically why I'm asking is that it if you can always run around with a heal-bot companion there's never ever gonna be any risk at all while solo'ing. Or on the other hand you're gonna be in a situation where everything is balanced around having a companion helping you, and you're forced to use them (making every class into a pet class).
