I'm sure most people by now knows that Starcraft is serious business in Korea. So serious that some progamers got into a match-fixing scandal and got banned from competitive Starcraft. And now, they're even getting jail time based on how involved they were.
The final sentence haven't been given yet but right now, they look like:
The most notable player being Progamer Ma (aka Savior) who has the second highest ELO peak of any professional Zerg, and dominated SC1 back in 2006-2007~."Broker Park: 2 years of jail.
Progamer Won: 2 years of jail + 3,000,000 Won (Roughly $3000)
Progamer Ma: 1 year and 6 months of jail.
Soccer Player Jung: 1 year and 6 months of jail.
Banker Park: 1 year of jail.
Former Progamer Jung: 1 year of jail.
Former Progamer Choi: 1 year of jail.
Self-business Owner Lee: 1 year of jail."
"Progamer Ma has stated: "Due to the mistake I have made, I deeply regret my behavior and actions. Although I have to leave the seven years I have been a part of E-Sports, I would like to say sorry to my teammates, my coaches, and everyone who has been a part of E-sports. If I was given another chance, I would contribute everything I can to society and live a rightful, quiet life to work off my indecencies."
Progamer Won has stated: "At first, I did not know what I have done and caused was a big deal, but now that I do realize what I have done, what I have destroyed and contaminated, I am deeply sorry for the fans and my parents. If the court will be more lenient on my charges, I will try my hardest to live a better, and a more respectful life."
Oh Savior, whatever happened to the you destroying everyone in 2009.
