The fifth numbered entry in Capcom's signature fighting game series revamps the game's mechanics yet again while using a new system for post-release content.
That looks really cool, do you buy kits and put them together or is there a lot of soldering and stuff involved? I remember jason talking about building sticks on UPF one time but i don't remember much of the details besides the mod for making the buttons quieter.
i've been thinking about fight sticks lately but they just seem to be out of my price range plus i'm not sure if I would actually be better with one as i haven't been to an arcade in almost 20 years. I did buy a hori fight commander and it's great but i still do dpad inputs i don't want some times. I've been knocking my head against street fighter v lately lol.
Also i like your new one, but I really like the design, shape and art for your last build especially how the art overlays the buttons.
@kidman: Thanks man! All the games on the bottom are games that I've played over the years (badly) and really enjoyed. I've never tried UMVC3. It just looks way to crazy for me.
@oursin_360: Thanks. No soldering required. All the parts (buttons, stick and board) can be found quite easily online. The box/frame is all custom built using wood and sheet metal. None of it hard to do it just takes a little time and patience. Anyone can do it and it's a great little project. I will say this though, by the time I was finished I could have bought an official stick with the money I spent. But that don't matter to me because I love the design side of it and the pride in saying "I made that". What some people are doing though is buying last gen sticks and modding them with a new board and stuff.
Now when it comes to using a fightstick I have no idea. There is definitely and adjustment period but I am ass no matter what I play on. I do hope to put some hour into this one though.
The design on the first on was pretty cool but was a pain in the ass to form the plastic on the top and get the high gloss finish.
@ninja_welshman: That's dope man sounds like a fun project and yeah i'm like that with my computer now lol, there is something to getting say I built this myself. If i was shopping for fight sticks and saw that it would definitely catch my eye.
@konig_kei: That was one of my goals designing this one. I cut channels for the wires in the top of the deck using a router. Worked out really well.
@skinky: Yeah, these are my favs. It was a lot of space to fill and my Photoshop skills are super basic. I should do another with Warren and all the Ranking of fighter logos.
