An Amazing Arcade-Shooter for the Hardcore 0

Super Stardust HD is a futuristic 3D Asteroids, basically. There's more than that though, but on paper, that's exactly what it is. You may notice, in the title, "...for the harcore". Why for the hardcore? Because this game is really, really hard. It doesn't go easy on you. When you first start the game and try out the first planet your gonna get your ass kicked, but then, once you get the hang of it you'll start to feel good, but then it'll get harder, and harder, and harder. It's pretty insan...

Although derivative Super Stardust makes for a pretty fun joystic 0

Since this is a arcade game it will be kinda short and I'm sorry about that.So there of course is no story but it is a lot of fun to play.Well the main thing you do is the same thing as well a lot of games(I.E. Geometry Wars and Everyday Shooter). It is just a joystick shooter you flick the stick and you shoot. But the thing that seperates this from Geometry Wars is this has co-op and this is a great add-on.You can end up passing by 4 hours straight just playing co-op.Me and my friend played for h...

    Dual-stick awesome 0

When compared to Xbox Live Arcade, the Playstation Network has kind of been a bit lackluster. Games like Echochrome, fl0w, and Calling all Cars can be fun, but apart from a few exceptions, the online service doesn't have much in the way of awesome games. Thankfully, Super Stardust HD is one of those few exceptions. The Amiga series has translated to the Playstation 3 beautifully, and many (including myself) will likely declare it their favorite dual-stick shooter of all time. While Geometry Wars ...

Super Stardust HD is the definitive dual-joystick shooter. 0

Dual-Stick shooters is a glorious genre that got a serious revival through the next-gen consoles (ironbic twist of events considering it took processing muscle to bring back the simple top-down games). This renaissance of sorts for the genre was initiated by the release of Geometry Wars, which most can now agree outclassed every other title that polluted Xbox 360's launch line-up. People were blown away by the fast and gloriously shiny shooter, which proved to be surprisingly deep and addictive ...

Bite-Sized fun on the Playstation Network 0

One needs to take only a cursory glance over the selections available on both Xbox Live Arcade and the Playstation Network to notice that there is an absolute glut of titles available in the dual-stick shooter category.  Even if you're a PS3-only user, there's still quite a few left to choose from.  I've bought and played most of them, and SSHD is one of the true standouts of the bunch.      The game offers several modes of play, but they all come down to your ship against wave after wave of...

    Super Addictive 0

Super Stardust HD is one of the best games currently available on the PlayStation 3's PlayStation Network. It's simple yet addictive dual joystick action reinvents the genre with it's fast pace and intense gameplay. It takes the tired concept of "move with one stick and shoot with the other" and refreshes it by setting the game on one of five interesting, spherical planets in the single player Arcade mode. Each planet consists of five phases, each progressively harder, leading up to a boss ...
