Nice one, would be nice to have trophies though!
This is awesome news. I'm getting the game day one for PS3. Apparently there's an extra surprise for PS3 owners which I PRESUME will be the Capcom themed store.
Shame about the trophies though. I'd hope for a patch but... well we still haven't seen that Bionic Commando Rearmed patch have we ;)
EDIT: Without being an awfully horrible troll but are people going to get this for the 360 - what with the D-pad and all?
"You could have tropies if you played on a console that was finished when it launched, and not in beta like the PS3..."we could have trophies too
The PS blog posting ends with "Oh yeah, we also have a “little” Street Fighter surprise coming later this holiday season. Let the speculation begin"
I imagine that this means a PSP release is coming soon?
It all sounds fucking awesome. I will be getting both versions.
If there is just one thing I am slightly disappointed about, it's the lack of a digital Street Fighter Udon comic that could have been brought over to the PSP. I had hoped for one.
Anyway this is all good none the less, great fan service, which is what this should be all about.
"The PS blog posting ends with "Oh yeah, we also have a “little” Street Fighter surprise coming later this holiday season. Let the speculation begin"SF4 ps3 exclusive, all been a big hoax until now xD
I imagine that this means a PSP release is coming soon?"
"If there's a PSP version on the way I will go gaga with happiness.Even just a 'this game is also playable on psp' would suffice for me tbh -god bless usb transfer ^_^

I really don't think that's possible due to technical reasons. The reason Bionic had the option was because of the type of visuals. Condensing this, a HD game, onto a tiny screen will cause issues, even more so with the new PSP display quirks.
I think a dedicated version is more likely, if they do I hope they release it with a thumb pad, even though I already have a third party one. I always wanted the one they put out with SFA3 max in Japan. That game sold well in all regions, despite it's bad default control. Capcom must know it's very popular among fans, hopefully enough to prompt them to bring this over. It's high time the PSP got another good SF game.
EDIT:
In theory they could attach dedicated PSP code and make it happen, but you would think they would rather create a dedicated game and experience for PSP owners.
The remix soundtrack looks like it has potential, definitely heavy on the Underground Cali hip hop tip. Hopefully I can snag it via my PSP to check it out, and if the game can be played on the PSP even better!
At least there's one Japanese publisher that doesn't see downloadable content as a means to rape their customers (*cough*NamcoBandai*cough*) and has no problem giving a little something for free every once and a while.
There. I read the article just so you wouldn't feel bad. But thanks for mentioning the price in the headline, that was all I wanted to know.
"If that soundtrack doesn't have songs that tell the story of each character, with one about Sagat in which the singer repeats the words "LOST SOUL BENT ON REVENGE LOST SOUL BENT ON REVENGE LOST SOUL BENT ON REVEEEEEENGE!" over and over again, I'm not interested. "I lol'd.
They remade all of the art, added a ton of optional gameplay changes, completely reworked the net code, and this is Super Street Fighter II Turbo we're talking about. Anyone who thinks this isn't worth 15 dollars is insane.
I want to purchase the 360 version for achievements but im having trouble finding a suitable controller for the 360 and im not a fan of arcade sticks. Any suggestions?
Psyusofly, the game actually not only has refined visuals, but online and rebalanced gameplay.
The one thing that's got me puzzled is WHY the game has rebalanced gameplay, built mainly for tournament play. Who cares? A very dedicated 1-5% of the people that will play this game. I'm actually a part of that said percent, but I think it's a horrible idea from a financial perspective. So much effort with so little gain.
$15 seems fair considering how much work went into it and how ridiculously cheap we got Bionic Commando Rearmed for. However with SF4 landing in just under 3 months, a ton of games already on my plate, I think I'll probably pass.
Um, I don't know...If I wait just 2 months and several days I would have a brand new copy of Street Fighter IV which is the only fighting game I will be competitively playing. In that respect, Soul Calibur IV will hold me over until then and I don't think SSF II HD remix would cut it for me. I'll only play it until Feb. 17th and the fact that I own every fucking version of this game for almost every fucking console I have ever owned, it would be murder if I buy the same game for the 12th time. I don't care if I could play online, legimately, and I don't care if the characters are redrawned and a few tweaks been added....A pass is maybe for me...Mame is good enough for all the action for me..
Haha awesome. I recognized a lot of Street Fighter references in Hieroglyphics songs, and a lot of their/Del's lyrics are videogamey. Good idea... just wish the 360 got the same deal.
Me and El-P, is superpowers like the US and USSR
Blow you like the Deathstar
Leave your chest scarred like Sagat
My plot proliferates, hits you like barbiturates
in a twist of fate and splits your face

I am in. That is not the worst price for it. 20 dollars and I probably would have been out but I think 10 dollars would have sold the game a lot better than $15.
I mean the 2 Penny Arcade games at 20 dollars I don't know why but I just can't justify buying...
to all you fools out there who didn't expect this to cost $15; The amount of work that went into this project, the delays, etc. had me thinking it would be 20. Even if you disregard the work and toil of these people, and just look at what you're getting for 15, it should be a pretty sweet deal. SF2 with a perfectly working online code, that is enough really. But in addition the sprites and backgrounds have been reworked and the gameplay further balanced. Even if you don't want to play with the balances you can tick them out via a dip switch system. which pretty much makes this the perfect SF2. I payed $90 for the SF2(vanilla) cart for SNES, I have no qualms about paying fifteen fucking dollars for one of the best and most timeless games ever.
