I am similar, but for me it's because I try to do it on my 360 controller, and it refuses to come out, so I spend the rest of the round yelling at my TV and trying to make it come out." I don't know why but when I get my ultra/super I tend to get lost and just try to do them than trying to win the game. "

SSFIV Bad Habits Thread
I can only think of when I do a heavy shoryuken even though I know the other person is going to block.
I've been getting better at not doing it though.
" @TheLegendofLuke said:I know that feeling. I swear my controller is out to get me. So many times that I've got an EX zig-zag (shoryuken motion) move rather than my ultra :/I am similar, but for me it's because I try to do it on my 360 controller, and it refuses to come out, so I spend the rest of the round yelling at my TV and trying to make it come out. "" I don't know why but when I get my ultra/super I tend to get lost and just try to do them than trying to win the game. "
As for shouting at my tv, I barely stop, even when I'm winning.
Having my hands feel screwed up after a few hours of playing causing me to not be able to do Down, Forward, Down, Forward, Ultras on the left side!!!
Forgetting that Deejays Machine Gun Upper isn't an anti-air.
I do it by mistake sometimes instead of up-kicks. They just land right in front of me and wonder what I am shaking my fist about. =/ I am getting better about it though.
I jump, man. I fucking jump all the time.
I only realised over the past two days playing ranked mode (which, if anything, has only made me worse), but its something I really need to break. If I'm too far away? Jump. If they're down? Jump. Basically, if they move, I jump.
Need. to. stop.
I have also recently developed a chronic case of button pressing.
This is all from playing too much ranked over the last couple days, though. I don't usually press random buttons (but I've always jumped :D )
...and I swear I actually avoid combos in ranked for fear of dropping a link and eating a mashed reversal. Derty feckers.
Forgetting that I'm not using a charge character so at the start of the match, I press down-back to charge even if my character doesn't have a charge move... T_T
jumping in
being too teleport-happy with akuma
smoking(seriously, i smoke like 2 times as much as normally do when i am entrenched in a SF session)
I automatically tend to crouch-parry at all times... even when I don't pick Guile (the only charge character I really play).
This is of cause pretty punishable, because I'm not nearly as safe as I think.
...Also my turtling ways tend to make me take more chip-damage than I'm usually aware of.
-Lack of comboing
-WAAAAY too aggressive
-Reliance on special moves
-Using Ultras as a panic button
-Playing while drunk (I am demonstrably worse and have less fun, but I still do it)
Too Defensive (which with akuma does not work apparently)
can't combo worth anything
LOSING ALOT
and general suckyness
I play this game a lot, yet still get my ass kicked by people who pick up the game for the first time. my pp is in the 400s. I think i've played near 150 ranked matches. Yea, i'm that bad.
" I automatically tend to crouch-parry at all times...Crouch parry? Ill put my Remy against your Guile.
I don't anticipate, and don't know the counters to most of the stuff in the game, frankly. I get rocked because of it, unless the person on the other end is a total moron.
Overtly defensive with Ibuki... Always need to remind myself those shurikens don't do damage!
Jumping in too often.
Trying to slide under fireballs with regular ass neckbreakers when only EX neckbreaker actually does that.
And generally being lazy as hell... I don't remember an actual player match I ever did a proper combo since I don't practice enough. Usually stick to (jumping hp >) lp > mp > hp > neckbreaker, but even then I don't do it when I should.
I keep fucking focusing Akuma on wake-up when he has u1. Just blindly trying to bait the shoryu and not paying attention. Has happened like 10 times this week.
Random flashkick under pressure.
The worst one I have is ending Abel's combos with Falling Sky, try to buffer a QCF and I get a Shoryuken motion.
That's why I play charge now.
Listening to podcasts while playing.
HPPodcraft, Giantbomb, SRK...All of them screw up my game. Luckily, I only do this online. Offline is fo realz.
"If I win the first round of a fight fairly easy I get overconfident and get destroyed the next round. "
This! Without a doubt what i do the most. And now that i started on my fight stick, almost always hold it down...... not down AND blocking. Just neutral down.
