Anyone in the know have any concept of how long the single player campaign will be? The world and wubwubwubdubstep music look cool enough to spend more than a few hours in hack-suiciding corporate drones. Starbreeze has created some pretty lengthy and entertaining campaigns, and I'm really hoping they've brought that to Syndicate.
Syndicate
Game » consists of 8 releases. Released Feb 21, 2012
Syndicate is a reinvention of the 1993 game by Bullfrog. Developed at Starbreeze Studios, the game puts players in the shoes of Miles Kilo, one of the cybernetically-enhanced Agents who wages war against enemy mega-corporations on behalf of EuroCorp, his sponsor syndicate.
Single player campaign
@jakob187: I just feel like nowadays alot of shooters ends up being short, and alot of shooters feels the same. But that's just my opinion.

I have a feeling its going to be short and linear.
What makes you think that? Is it Starbreeze's track record of having a decently lengthy and typically very good single player campaign in their games...or just because there's an EA logo on the box?
Haven't the GB staff said many times that the crew at Starbreeze now aren't the crew of old? Something about them leaving and creating a different studio, so the people staffing Starbreeze now are like a new entity. I guess only time will tell.
Jim Sterling on twitter said 6 hours. He also didn't seem very impressed.
Here's a more recent tweet talking about the story/ending: Jim SterlingJimSterling
Ali_Hayas It's just ... there, for the most part. One of the most "okay" games you could play.

But Jeff is really enjoying it. So I'll take his word over Jim Sterling.

Yeah, I just read his twitter feed after I posted that. Gives me some hope!
Confirmed: 4/5 for GB and 4/10 for Destructoid.

I bought OG Syndicate on GOG instead.
Now that's a 4 hour campaign, tops.
I bought it a few weeks ago and only now getting around to finishing it. early missions go by fast, but later on some of them get brutal and require replays. (ugh escort missions, just ugh)
I seen the ign review of this game. They said it was short and the co-op is the best thing about the game.

Ahem.
Riddicks takes like, 5 hours tops to beat. Masterpiece though, but super duper short.
To me dropping 60 dollars on a short game with little content isn't worth it. I can see myself getting bored of it quickly. I rather wait for a price drop.

this is one reason why Deus Ex was one of if not THE best FPS and RPG of 2011
Yeah everytime I think about that game I remember just how awesome it was. If it wasnt for those boss fights it would have been even better. If anything it makes me really excited to see where they go from here because you know they are going to make another one eventually.
Is this a legit single player campaign or will it feel like L4D single player, where the AI of my team makes me want stab myself in the eyes? In other words, is it really a co-op game that they allow you to play by yourself?

Its a full on legit singleplayer campaign. The co-op is a completely seperate beast.

My interest in this just went up. sweet.
The campaign, altough short, is pretty good i felt. I failed miserably at the boss fights, and didn't actually beat the last one (gave up) but I'm afraid that says more about me than the game. I did feel like the campaign gave me good action, and lots if situation where you feel like a badass, and the combat is really fluid.
