The story is here, at Kotaku
Wow. More loadout customizations, headgear, and... grenades!?!?
Were it a lesser team, I'd have some serioud doubts right now. This is Valve, though, and they love to playtest and balance more than anyone. If you read their blog, they think of subtle details most of us don't think twice about. They really know what they're doing, and I'm sure anyting they change will only be for the better, especially with TF2.

Man, Valve is awesome. They just don't quit with the awesome they bring.
I'm quite happy to see the return of grenades. I hope they go all out in giving each class their own type for TF2.

It's ironic how they worked so hard to make the game work without grenades to avoid what happened in the original, and here they are trying to figure out how to put them back in.

Headgear is awesome but please no grenades. The game doesn't need it and I certainly don't want it.

In the early stages of it's extremely long Dev cycle. This is Valve we're talking about. We won't be seeing ep. 3 for some time.

I tried Counter-Strike a few weeks back for the first (late to the party, I know), but I didn't like the grenade thing at lot. Things kinda boiled down to just luckly wins. Same thing with Halo 2 and 3. So I'm not entirely sold on the grenade addition being a needed. I don't think most of the TF2 community's been asking for them. But at the same time, Valve's mentioned that it's something that they've been paying close attention to since they were testing TF2, so if they're actually considering placing them back in the game, they totally most have a good reason to do. And c'mon, it's Valve! In the hands of a lesser develepor I'd be worried. These guys know how make great games, and multiplayer ones are a particular strong suit of theirs. That kinda balances out my worries. I do hope the upcoming Sniper Update doesn't take too long get released! TF2, the game that just keeps on giving!!!

Aside from the grenades (i can understand how this might change TF2 for the worse), those ideas look awesome. The world needs an awesome FPS with more 'diablo like' depth. Im sure Valve will do it right.

If they add fros and grenades... Would the fros be able to bounce the grenades back?

This is a terrible idea. The thing that I liked about TF2 was the fact that though Valve made changes to the game, they didn't go overboard and change everything. I don't care about headgear, I would never change that stuff, but grenades?!? Really? One of the things I love about TF2 is that there is no grenade spamming. The only one with grenades are the demomen and they tend to stick to....stickies. If Valve actually starts letting all the classes use grenades, it not only blurs the lines between the classes, but also makes TF2 into less of an original online FPS and more of a Call of Duty or Halo kind of game.
