Uhh... I totally don't remember either Beebop or Rocksteady in the SNES version. I do, however, clearly remember Tohka and Rahzar. I think they appeared in the Technodrome level.
Weird... I was just making a point to my girlfriend 2 days ago about how great this game was when I was younger, 'cause even though it was only 30 minutes long, I played it over, and over, and over again without ever really getting bored.
Also looks like that this game is based on the arcade version of the game since a level that did not get ported over to the snes was playable. Perhaps they are making an "ultimate" version with all the content from both the Arcade and the SNES version mashed together, we'll see.
Can someone explain to me how this game is 2.5 D but the original Turtles in Time was 2d?
Do you just mean that the sprites are 3D models?
Because Turtles in Time was clearly not just a 2d game. You could move towards and away from the screen, as opposed to, say Super Mario World, where you could not...?
