The fifth installment in Bethesda's Elder Scrolls franchise is set in the eponymous province of Skyrim, where the ancient threat of dragons, led by the sinister Alduin, is rising again to threaten all mortal races. Only the player, as the prophesied hero the Dovahkiin, can save the world from destruction.
What race will your first character be?
Argonian, as always. Hoping they'll look more beast-like in Skyrim, as opposed to humans with lizard heads.
" Probably a hot Viking chick with a massive Viking beard. "I'm not so sure that those two go together
I will probably choose a Breton or Nord
probably an sneaky, or magic argonian, assassinate some fucker, set him and all of his friends on fire, y'know, the usual
I will choose a Breton...I had a Lv. 32 Breton on OBLIVION and I preferred the higher Magika and summoning skills that Bretons have over most of the other races.
Argonians. Because they are good at being stealthy without totally sucking at combat. Also, they are lizard people, which is always a plus.
Anything but an Imperial. They are way too bland and their racial powers suck.
I've always had an affinity for the High Elves, with their enormous magicka pool, or Bretons for their easily achievable magic immunity. That said, the story and the world is kinda swaying me towards Nord.
It depends on the character creator for me. If they haven't improved it I'll stick with either Imperial or Dark Elf (is it bad that I know the proper term is Dunmer?). If they have made drastic changes and High Elves (Altmer...) don't look like creepy transvestites, i might change it up. Or maybe if they made Orcs/Nords significantly bulkier they might fly.
I haven't tried playing as a Nord in any of the previous Elder Scrolls games so maybe this time around I'll try it out.
I don't see that happening as they seem pretty anti-traditional western dwarves with their lore explanation of the Dwemer not being short people, and then making them extinct for a pretty long while." Still waiting on Bethesda to bring real dwarves into the fold. "
On topic, probably gonna go Imperial as they seem like the most normal-looking race. I've never really been a fan of picking the strange races to play as in games like this. Also, I really hope they re-tool the racial powers a lot seeing as if you were not playing a race for sheer role play there were absolute "best" classes for each main role (warrior, mage, thief)
I'll pick whichever race has the prettiest preset faces because chances are everyone will be pie-faced fug-monsters again.
