@deathfromace: I'm complaining about it specifically because they didn't do it (on release) and specifically because it wasn't promised. Its a feature that a lot of developers provide because a lot of people like to choose based on their preference.

I hate to break it to you friend but you're the one seeming annoyed, responding to over a month old posts claiming that people have a grudge against Nintendo. I didn't create the issue, Nintendo did by employing English voice actors who can't voice act to save themselves. If you think the English performances in Breath of the Wild are on par with every other game out there that has English voice acting then you might want to reevaluate your bar for quality.

I'm just going to piggyback off of this statement, but I think a big, for lack of a better word, problem is that the Japanese audio and subtitles were present in the retail game, but not accessible. I can't think of a single other game where that was the case and if there is such a game, I bet anything they received just as much flak as Nintendo did from their fans.

I'm a little surprised at how strongly people feel about the voice acting in this game. I was thrown off by Zelda's voice at first just like most people, but I got used to it pretty quickly. Its not...good, but I found it serviceable at the very least. Even if it was outright horrible it wouldn't detract from the game in any significant way imo. 99.9% of the dialogue is text anyways and narrative in Zelda has been, at best, a tertiary focus.

On Wii U you can now switch voices to another language. I'm all for the Japanese Zelda, a bit over dramatic but I think it fits.
