The Temple of Time is in ruin when you start the game, but I think one of the tasks in the game is to physically rebuild it yourself. I noticed Great Plateau is filled with what appears to be debris from the Temple of Time. If you look closely the planks of wood littered throughout the plateau they are beautifully carved, having the level of detail you would expect from wooden structures in the Temple of Time. Added to the fact you can pick up items like planks and place them where you like using a Rune in the Sheikah tab. The only problem with this theory is how you would move them en mass, another teleportation rune?

I have another theory about that tablet also. To me it seems like future technology, not a relic from an ancient Hyrule, which is what we are used to seeing. Maybe the plan is to travel into the future to save someone more important than Zelda for once, a future Link perhaps?.

I hope that's true. I love it when you build things throughout a game. The colony 6 subquest in Xenoblade Chronicles was so fun.

I noticed that too..... but isn't that the point of Spirit Tracks? Building tracks from tower to tower because this if after the Flood from Wind Waker?

I thought the planks and stuff looked a little too fancy and kinda future-y, the Temple of Time was all old bricks! I do really like that idea though.

With that really awesome Link to the Past reference and the rusted Master Sword, it made me wonder if there might be some time travel or dark world stuff going on in this game as well. It being open world just makes that seem like an impossible amount of work though.

Yep. It's a bit bizarre but they seem to have a better command of Nintendos hardware that their inhouse team does. This game looks great, but I think Xenoblade X probably still squeezes a bit more out of the Wii U

I don't think it's that severe. I think they've helped considerably in able to aid the other programmers with programming for a seamless open world environment, something which Nintendo have little experience in. I've heard developers describe it as creating "data bubbles", meaning if a player steps into a data bubble the data for certain areas are streamed in the background, giving the illusion if no loading. In a diverse 3D environment that must be tricky, but Monolith handled it very well. Monolith are also difficient in some areas.
