Overview
First appearing in Season 3 of Blaseball, The Shelled One was a deity-esque figure fond of peanuts and angered by acts of blasphemy. The Shelled One would appear after certain events to communicate directly with the players, usually stating its disappointment with them.
The Shelled One was first awoken due to "The Peanut Fraud", a scheme in which Blaseball fans exploited the game's systems to generate infinite peanuts. Upon waking, The Shelled One called First and Second Strike, due to the opening of the forbidden book as well as the Peanut Fraud.
During the Season 3 post-season, The Shelled One made peanut prices affordable. Following the incident, The Shelled One intended Blaseball fans to idolize several players, all of whom bore "Peanut" in their name, getting increasingly frustrated at the fans' failure to do so. Due to the failure, The Shelled One began trapping certain blaseball players in giant peanut shells, preventing them from playing. Players with "Peanut" in their name were immune to getting shelled.
This led fans of the L.A. Unlimited Tacos to form a plan in which the top 10 idols in Season 7 was comprised entirely of Peanut players and Tacos pitchers, appeasing The Shelled One but shelling every Tacos Pitcher, leading to the introduction of Pitching Machine.
In Seasons 9 and 10, The Shelled One directly fought the championship winners of each season (the Shoe Thieves and the Crabs respectively), using its own team, The Shelled One's Pods, formed entirely from shelled players. Neither team was able to defeat The Shelled One, however the Crabs' ascension allowed The Monitor's team, The Hall Stars, to defeat The Shelled One's Pods.
Following the Pods' defeat, The Shelled One was consumed by The Monitor.
