It's out today and I'm looking forward to playing it when I get home tonight. I've heard some good things about it, so I'm glad I've pre-ordered the season although I was worried after Telltale's Jurassic Park game.

Has anyone played it on a particular platform and how is it?

Edit. I've pre-ordered it from Telltale's site for the PC.

I just purchased it an hour ago and it should unlock this very minute.

Edit: There was no preload, but it's only 450 MB.

Just finished downloading...about to check it out now...

Don't see it for xbox yet. Is it still supposed to out today? Could always get it on steam but want it for my console.

XBLA stuff updates mainly on Wednesdays, so I assume it won't be on there until tomorrow.

@Twisted_Scot: I don't know for sure or anything. I know with the Back to the Future games on PSN, they came out way later than the PC versions. I tried some searches, but couldn't find anything from Telltale about when the XBLA release is

Nope.It won't be until the entire store updates which is usually not for another 5-6 hours.

right, that's what i figured. but after only 3 months of ps ownership my hope for a release early in the day hasn't fully died yet.

That show has some of the worst characters in the history of television.

I checked the Telltale purchases page and it's not up for download yet on PC. Hopefully by tonight...

The dialogue and voice acting are great, but it really bothers me that it's all low quality/compressed. I noticed that stuff in other Telltale games, but it really stands out here.

This game is based on the comics, not the show.

Alright, having played roughly half of the first episode now I'd say it's closer to fulfilling what Jurassic Park set out to do. There are QTEs, but it does seem minimal (although, that could change, as I'm not too far in). You can actually control your character with WASD; you can select dialogue choices and verbs using the number keys (something that a lot of PC games really should let you do...). There's also a timer on selecting dialogue choices, which can get annoying, especially since the choices fade out when the timer gets closer to zero.

Also, I'm liking the art style; it has a good 'comic book vibe' to it - it may just be a cheap excuse for having mediocre graphics (eg. some of the trees are just flat sprites), but the style works based on the source material.

Justin McElroy said he loves it and that man gives great hugs so I'm inclined to trust him.

It's pretty great. Really emotional, dark, violent. According to the steam achievements I am halfway through after about an hour. One of telltale's best episodes ever.

I've been taking notes whenever the game has a little "this character thinks this" notification in the corner. Not sure if it really matters but it's making the game more interesting.

Thinking about getting it, just not sure yet. Wait till there's more honest views on it.

Yeah great story. Some really cool and graphic parts lol. Cant wait for the rest....maybe i will just hold off and play them all in a row? :/ thats only a few months right? lol

That's one thing that bums me out about the game, all of the achievements are just chapter completion based =( Hopefully they add more later, because these are the crappiest achievements I've ever seen.

Although, having said that, I'm going to assume/hope it was on purpose, I think they want people to avoid making decisions/actions for the purpose of getting achievements. So, for example, if there was an achievement for staying silent during the opening car trip, some people would attempt to get the achievement instead of actually responding in a way that they think is appropriate.

@BeachThunder: that's the problem with achievements - like the one in L.A. NOIRE to cause 47K worth of damage and then finish the case, it doesn't make much sense in the context of the story/characters or plot that a detective would do such a thing...or at least be around to solve another case

How the fuck are people playing on Steam for hours now but my pre-order from Telltale's own site has yet to appear?

Edit. After hitting the pavement and doing a bit of lurking, it appears there are some problems with the Steam version that they are trying to correct for the Telltale site's release. TT stated that the game will be out by the end of their business day (5pm PST I believe).

Went onto the telltale forums regarding why there is a delay downloading it through them. There is some serious roid rage going on, while it is annoying that there is a delay and no firm date as to when they are going to release it through the telltale website, dude forums be crazy!!

thanks friendo. wasn't home but pumped to play tomorrow after hearing all the good things!

just downloaded the demo and played it. wasnt liking the controls at first but its better once you get used to it. I love how the choices you make can absolutely change how the story goes.

Yeah, there was some crazy shit going on there.

Those of us who ordered through the site ended up getting a Steam code to download the game from there until TT's site get's it. That was pretty cool of them.
