Presenting an original story in the same franchise as the comic book series of the same name, The Walking Dead is a five-part adventure game from Telltale that follows the story of a convicted murderer, his guardianship over a young girl, and his co-operation with a roaming group of survivors in a zombie apocalypse.

Walking Dead is a simply one of the greatest zombie stories. The best reason is that it is a story! No saving the world is needed, No end all be all for everyone. Its just a story of a group of people in a messed up world.

If you haven't played the Walking Dead yet by this point, you really should. One of the best episodic stories on this generation. Dark humor and great story telling makes me enjoy it even when im depressed playing it.

The game gets better through the episodes, simply because they are learning how to make it better by every episode. Crappy gun play? just wait it will get better.

Writing a review for this game isn't easy considering the game came out over a year ago, So lets get down to the version we are talking about.

Playing The Walking Dead on the vita is a awesome concept in short. Being able to play it on the go and pause whenever so you can have it at your finger tips. Sadly it isn't the best way to play this game. Don't get me wrong being able to chose touch controls over analog control isn't bad by all means, it's just the other parts. The speakers on the vita isn't the greatest in the world so if you want the best experience out of it you better get some headphones. Also playing it in daylight is hard to see considering most the environments in the game is shaded in such a way a darker room would be more ideal for the games experience. My biggest problem for the game is that it is a port of the Play Station 3 version, meaning that all the little bugs in that version is only made worse here. By all means it doesn't break the game but it does feel jarring when dialog is out of sync from time to time. Another issue against the Vita version is that being on the vita the battery wont last you forever. If you plan on blazing through an episode at a time. Pack a charger because you won't make it. The battery lasts maybe three hours playing this so it isn't ideal for long stretches this game deserves.

The Walking Dead Season one on the vita is a great piece of content but has its hiccups from time to time. If your willing to ignore them and have a good time (in a dark room with headphones charger at the ready) I highly recommend this. If you want another experience at this before season 2 I say yea go for it. DLC is included and its only $19.99 so its not that much of a risk on buying it. Go for it!
