While my rational comedy brain continues to tell me there's no tolerating Jimmy Fallon's giggle-through-the-jokes style of comedy, it's hard for me not to admire dude's commitment to incorporating video games and technology into the late-night talk show format in ways I've never seen before. In addition to mocking up some pop-topical box art and screenshots earlier this week, Fallon announced on Monday that he would be taking on Tiger Woods himself in Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 for the Wii on tonight's episode of Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Though the episode will air tonight, the segment was shot earlier today, and MTV Multiplayer was on the scene in Times Square to watch as (spoilers!) Fallon handed Tiger's Nike-branded hat to him. Tech junkie that he is, Fallon couldn't resist throwing up a few celebratory tweets as well.

Fallon vs. Tiger on Late Night Tonight

The thing with Jimmy Fallon is that, at least for Late Night, I think that the material is actually pretty funny, but his delivery is atrocious for my tastes. I respect the guy for all of his video game love, though. You can tell he means it.
I think Jimmy is doing a good job, and he can only improve from here. I remember the early Conan days were somewhat similar. He was all awkward fidgeting and trying to get the right feel for the show while everyone else in the media wanted him out. Jimmy is gonna find his way, and it can only help video games exposure if he succeeds.
" The thing with Jimmy Fallon is that, at least for Late Night, I think that the material is actually pretty funny, but his delivery is atrocious for my tastes. I tried to watch Fallon in his first couple of shows and in my opinion he just is not funny... I kinda feel bad though because anytime I happen to catch him after I watch Conan, Fallon really seems to be trying to be funny but just doesn't cut it for me. In the end, I'll probably still check this out.
" Ohh shit...you made me think like he was going to wrestle a tiger and subsequently get mauled by it. DAMN YOU FOR THE MISLEADING TITLE> "Same...
" Fallon is an example that asshats can fall ass backwards into big time jobs. How he is even on TV is beyond me. He is so not funny. Only relevance to me is that this is game related, otherwise if Fallon is talking I am not listening. "Every one knows that the first of any show is kind of about experimentation and trying to find what works. According to the comments Mr. Fallon already has a bit of a following so maybe you should give the man a chance.
Anyone catch the interview last night on Fallon's show? It was priceless, and I thought it put Tiger in a different light as a regular guy, who likes games and obviously doesn't like to lose. It was the way Fallon commented and questioned Tiger about golf in a naive way. It brought Tiger and his stardom back to earth. Then they had the one hole rematch(after Fallon beat him over 4 holes in Times Square earlier that day). It was hilarious and they were both nervous. Fallon was great and kept it fun and light and Tiger seemed to enjoy it(he won the hole by a stroke). It was just one of the coolest things I've seen in a while. Kudos to Tiger to appear on Jimmy's show and indulge us videogame fans and fans of Tiger period as well. And what's up w/the Fallon hate in here anyway? Get a clue people.
