Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 Review

For this version of Tiger Woods PGA Tour, for the Wii, you'll finally get the chance to use the Wii Motion Plus. You'll get to play as Tiger or many other popular golfers and take on several different courses. Sadly you won't be able to partake in all the courses right off the bat, nor all the golfers. You'll have to earn them through playing  courses and winning rounds. There are a couple of ways to unlock things in this game, a new thing by EA, you can either play to unlock or pay to unlock. Personally I'll play.

The graphics on this game are the only stigma to the entire game. I feel like I got transported back to 1994 and am playing Golden Tee  94. The courses are sufficient enough, but there are times where it is hard to determine exactly where the ball will go because you can't zoom enough. The other thing is that several key things in this game are pixilated to hell. Your golfer for one, and the flag for each hole. I know that this isn't a next gen console game (well in terms of graphics), but I feel that this could have been done better.

You're going to have your regular sports related music going on in the game, and of course the commentators. The problem is that the commentators have a very bad track record of being wrong about most anything, so tune them out if you can. The hit sounds are spot on.

The controls, if you use the Wii Motion Plus have their very precise moments, and then sometimes not so much. What I mean by that is that when you change difficulties a swing that would go 85% might sometimes go 100% or 56%. The consistency is really hard to accomplish simply because I feel that the Wii tries to determine exactly what you were trying to do.

So the game play has you playing golf. You'll have 3 different difficulties to choose from. If you want to play online you're going to have to go with standard, and if you want to try to match the pros you'll have to go to the highest difficulty. If you want the most enjoyable, not too taxing way to play with friends you'll choose the easiest difficulty. With that level of difficulty you'll be able to see the path the ball will take, and you'll find yourself matching what the pros can do. It is enjoyable for a bit to create your own character and build there stats, but you're only going to be able to use them against your friends.

This game was a good start to the Wii Motion Plus, but it lacks a little bit when it comes to replay. If you have friends who want to goof around and play some video game golf, and get some exercise in, then this is a game you need to check out, but if you're looking for a sports  game to play by yourself you might find that after a while the new game shine comes off of  this game at an alarming rate. This game gets a 7.9 out of 10.

Imagine a vocal Communist living in America. He burns flags, speaks the virtues of a Marxist economy and preaches on his porch with megaphone in mouth extolling the evils of President Obama. Yet he refuses to heed his neighbours coarse advice of “love it, or leave it!” because he’s gotten too used to this whole “freedom of speech” business that Americans are granted. That’s my relationship with the Wii in a nutshell. The much ballyhooed motion controllers turned out to be considerably flimsy and...

A few weeks ago I reviewed Wii Sports Resort. Basically said I liked it a lot, but Motion Plus was too long in coming and I doubted it would make any difference to your average Wii owner. The wife and I wanted to compete on Sports Resort, so I bought Tiger Woods 10 to get a 2nd Motion Plus add-on. At first it's not obvious what difference Motion Plus makes, but if you disconnect and reconnect the add-on between strokes, it soon becomes apparent. Without Motion Plus there's not much difference...
