    A top hat is a type of formal headwear for men consisting of a tall, cylindrical cap and a narrow brim. They are also referred to as "stovepipe" hats, due to their shape and traditional black color. The classic top hat is crafted from shiny silk, but top hats may also be made from fur felt. Some famous people who have been known for wearing top hats include Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States, Professor Layton, and Slash, the lead guitarist of Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver.
     
    There also also counts of women wearing top hats, most notably Mad Moxxi from Borderlands.
