Platinum perfect gameplay and Transformer fanservice galore. 1

Admittedly I am extremely biased when it comes to anything and everything Transformers related, being one of those kinds of fans of the franchise to the point where I feel no shame at all about the fact my life is practically defined by my love of everything that encapsulates it.And alongside that I would say I'm pretty crazy about Platinum games too and this game is yet another incredibly polished very fun release of the popular studio's roster of fantastic titles. No-one understands character ...

Transformers! A Good Game In Disguise! 0

There is something about Platinum Games that I just don’t get along with. Games like 2009’s Mad World and Bayonetta, well, I just can’t wrap my head around them. Then 2013’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance is, in my opinion, not only full of poor design choices but features a title which makes zero sense. And, yes, before you say it, most of Metal Gear makes zero sense but that word is a step too far! Transformers Devastation, on the other hand, has a story that is sound, ...

Transformers Devastation is a game that is full of nostalgia 0

Yet that nostalgia might have clouded a few thought processes when reviewing this game. I'm not saying this isn't a fun game since it is but compared to Platinum's last licensed effort (The Legend Of Korra) this game isn't much of a improvement over that release. As the game starts Megatron has once again started one of his crazy schemes to take over the world like this was a episode of the Transformers 80's TV show. Of course the Autobots lead by Optimus Prime must take down Megatron's plot and...

More time in the garage than on the road. 0

Transformers: Devastation is another product of Platinum Games' collaboration with Activision. If you got this game for free on PlayStation Plus, it's worth a shot. If not, there are much better games from this developer to dive into. The presentation is the strongest part of Transformers. Platinum brought back as many voice actors from the original cartoon as they could, and they deliver their catchphrases and goofy cartoon jargon with aplomb. The cartoony style with bright colours and reflectiv...

More than meets the eye indeed. Could have used a bit MORE though. 0

The Autobots arrive to a city that is clearly under attack by Decepticons. They encounter Megatron and learn that he has gained access to an ancient Cybertronian artifact. The Autobots spring into battle to stop the Decepticon leader but they have no idea what they're really up against. -summaryLicense titles have been quite the surprise for several years now not only being playable titles, but several have actually gone somewhat beyond the call of duty and I would even dare to call them good. T...

Scratch the old-school itch you didn't even know you had with Transformers: Devastation. 0

I had a few days with time to kill and nothing substantial to play. Transformers: Devastation was meant to be filler for me. But for the next two days I wore a blissed-out smile on my face as my childhood memories rushed back in cel-shaded renderings of the Autobots and Decepticons and the countless hours I spent plastered to the TV screen. Most of the original voice cast is even here. And there's Soundwave. Motherfucking Soundwave is in this game.Devastation's playbook is simple but effective: ...

I waited too long to play this game... 0

I recently picked this game up and have since beaten it three times. The presentation is amazing. Great graphics, sound (original voice actors and good music), and gameplay. It is high speed robot crushing action sprinkled with a good story. The combo system is fairly simple by todays standards but I never got tired of it. I think I prefer the simplicity. The one thing that I had any issue with was the upgrade system. I didn't understand what I was doing until late in the game but it really didn...
