Is this the only game you ever plan on playing on the PS3?  If it is, then probably not.  But, if you think you might play other games on the Sony console, or maybe utilize its media center capabilities, then this is a great get to kick off your collection.

On it's own, no.  Coupled with Ratchet, inFAMOUS, MGS4, Demon's Souls, Noby Noby Boy, Valkyria Chronicles, LittleBigPlanet, Burnout Paradise and a whole bunch more games?  Absolutely.

If Tomb Raider, Indiana Jones and other action-adventure movies are your kind of thing, then consider Uncharted to be liquid win. It's really hard to not like the Uncharted games.
 
MGS4, Heavenly Sword and Little Big Planet are three more exclusives one can pick up dirt cheap now.

yeah it's really good. Plus you can get the first one too so you can buy  the PS3 for two games really.

Go buy a PS3, Uncharted 2, and inFamous, you will be happy for awhile, combined, if I didn't already own my PS3, would have sold me on it.

I actually think yes. Well, the thing is, if you bought a PS3 for the game, you'd probably end up checking out other games, which are also really good, so if this is the catalyst for you buying your system, I really do think so.
 
Uncharted 2 is the best game on a platform that houses Metal Gear Solid 4 and Wipeout HD among others. So yes, I'd definitely recommend buying a PS3 now, especially now it's cheaper.

I'm blown away by how fantastic this game is. After the utter drizzling shit disappointment that I found Killzone 2 to be, I was even more vary of the hype for this game.
If you have any vested interest in the Metal Gear story, then MGS4 and Unhcarted 2 together make me recommend getting a PS3 as a game console for the first time ever. I consider them a 1-2 combo of killer apps.
And with the new pricedrop and Sony seemingly getting their heads out of their asses for the first time in what seems like years, I'm personally getting optimistic about my black behemoth again.
