I like the new box, its kinda reminiscent of PS1 square boxes. And that goddamn spiderman font is gone. Lord how I hated that thing. Unfortunately its still gonna be on the side of my PS3 for all eternity.
I think it looks okay in my cabinet, in my closet. Not like I'm playing the damn box. Plus, I ruined the cover art by running in the rain with the game in hand. I should park closer to places I'm broin' out at.
As long as the game inside works and is awesome and I can pick the game in its box off of my shelf with no thought, then I am happy. And you should be too.
I wonder why it is that you guys who post "who gives a fuck" feel the need to express your opinion that you don't care enough to have a opinion. Fine, go away back to gamespot. But here on Giant Bomb, where articles about the box art for a game getting released, or just articles about stupid things and discussions about how a game gets named, this is where we can talk about this shit even if its not important. You are all the same guys who write on iTunes talking about how the bombcast is stupid because they talk about energy drinks or have long discussions about whether or not Call of Duty will be in the name for Modern Warfare 2. And I am not denouncing the game because of the art. The game is great. It is just weird to see sony go in this direction. And when your a gamer and you take care of your game collections, you notice not all your boxes match up anymore. The same thing happened to my dreamcast games. When Sega went to black, the boxes never looked awesome anymore.

OH MY GOD. THE BOX. THE ART IS THE SAME, BUT THEY JUST HAVE A DIFFERENT OVERLAY. FUCKING ATROCIOUS GARBAGE. I'M APPALLED AT THIS GAME, I SHOULDN'T HAVE WASTED MY MONEY ON THIS ABORTION OF JUSTICE.

@TheHBK: I think it's just stupid of Sony to change the way the box art looks mid way through a console's prime. But dude, don't go hunting for the old box art version of Uncharted 2. In the future all PS3 games will use this shitty box art so there is really no point plus, it's just box art!
I got the PS3 Slim Box Art. It looks stupid the little clear plastic area at the top no longer says "Playstation 3" and looks out of place with the new art. People with U2 and any pre box art game, should recognize this. Just an example of stupid marketing, oh guys we need to use the new brand image on EVERYTHING.
I have to admit, the first words out of my mouth when I picked it up were "What the hell did they do to the box art?" I really wish they would have stuck with the old art. It would have been different if they only had the original art for a year or so, but it's been what? Four years that they had the original art? It seems to throw off the balance of my collection now. :(

They're essentially rebranding the thing. Keep some of the old branding and you confuse people. People are dumb.
@girdz: For starters, no I didn't buy it from Amazon or Ebay or whatever site had that thing priced at $3000 :P A local Gamestop had a contest going one night where the price was the Fortune Hunter Edition. But since not that many people knew about the contest and nobody showed up that night, I went in the next day and asked about the thing. They told me that no one came and the thingy was still out back, so I just asked "Could I buy it?" and after a long talk with the chick behind the counter and her boss and me, I got it for like normal Collectors Edition price.
@girdz: I know, I walked out from that place in a great mood. Now I just have to get a bunch of guys and girls together and figure out where this key fits. Got my half-tucked shirt and my witty remarks ready. Now I need someone to catch me everytime I fall to my death.
The new boxart is better in every way than the last one.
But it's stupid doing it halfway thru a generation.

What? Box art is a very important part of the game! It directly determines sales, and it is the last thing you see before buying the game, and manipulates your mood from the walk from the shelves to the counter. A good boxart will make you happy, but a bad box art would make you have second thoughts on buying it.
Not only that, box arts are the main way of telling what a game is about to the majority of the gaming populace. If you can't tell what the game is about, and if you don't like it, chances are, there is no way you are going to buy it short of going online and seeing what the game is about (which is very hard to do, and only a very very small amount of people do).
