You're probably gunna get a lotta shit on this thread, but to be honest I agree with you. I played like the first 3 or 4 hours of Uncharted 1, and thought it was dull as shit, and subsequently never wanted to play it again. Can't imagine why everyone loves this franchise so much. Then again I've never been a fan of Indiana Jones or explorer-ish themes, so it might just be me. But the gameplay was generic as fuck too - and trust be there are better 3rd person shooters.

Well you are certainly entitled to your opinion. God knows, I've disliked games people loved, but I would suggest maybe don't start a topic like this. Writing a review of the game are commenting on another one is a more appropriate way of expressing this sort of opinion.

In my opinion, the Uncharted series has a lot of gameplay flaws that get ignored because of stellar story telling.

I'd say most people only played Uncharted 2, which was an amazing game. The first one not so much.

You played the wrong Uncharted. Uncharted 2 is the one you want.

@Chavtheworld:Uncharted 1 wasn't overrated; the majority of its reviews were around 8.5. Uncharted 2 is the critical darling. I'm assuming you haven't played the second one, based on your comment, so you can't complain about it being overrated. It was leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessor, and deserved the scores it received.

That's just too bad, man. The first game wasn't all that great, but the sequel pretty much fixed everything that was wrong with the former one and then some.
