Easily one of the most frustrating games I've played on the PS3. I haven't played uncharted 2 because of how frustrating those bullet sponge enemies are, and how cheap the gunfights in the second half of the game are. Thank god its over and I can play Uncharted 2.
Uncharted: Drake's Fortune
Game » consists of 11 releases. Released Nov 19, 2007
Become Nathan Drake, a treasure hunter and descendant of famed explorer Sir Francis Drake as he searches for the lost treasure of El Dorado.
I finally beat Uncharted! I regret playing this game!
Uncharted 2 is great and everything, but I liked the first Uncharted a lot and don't think the leap between 1 and 2 is as massive as everyone pretends it is. Uncharted 1 reviewed like 8-9 across the board and deserved it -- and that was back when it was cool to shit on everything PS3 related. What I think I'm saying is...

I found little enjoyment in Uncharted: DF. I know I am supposed to like it because I am a PlayStation fanboy. Now I have Uncharted 2 sitting in shrink wrap, but I would rather just replay Valkyria Chronicles.
I understand why someone would get frustrated with Drake's Fortune. There was some messed up shit with that game for sure.
Drake's Fortune was still a good game nonetheless. Among Thieves blows it out of the water, though.
While it's true that U1 had bulletsponge enemies, it shouldn't have brought you any problems on the normal difficulty. If you found the game frustrating, maybe you just weren't good at it.

Uncharted 2 in my opinion definitely fixed combat.
I really didn't think Uncharted 1 was that hard. I just shot guys in the head, getting around the whole sponge problem. To be honest, I didn't even notice they were sponges until I tried the game on crushing.
I guess I'm just freakin' awesome.
But yeah, Uncharted 2 makes Uncharted 1 look like garbage in every way possible.
I eventually turned it down to easy because I got so sick of the enemies absorbing bullets, and that final boss fight was still a pain. I didn't find much enjoyment in that game. I think it might have soured me a bit on 2 as well, because while I recognized it to be better, I wasn't having much more fun.
I thought the shooting was better in Drake's Fortune than Among Thieves. I'm pretty oriented for headshots so the sponge thing was never a problem in Drake's Fortune, but in Among Thieves it seems like every enemy is wearing a stupid helmet.
hating on a game for being challenging... and youre probably the same guy hating on cod for being to easy. The ending was the most frustrating part about Uncharted 1 for me. You only have one gun, and they just barely give you enough ammo to survive. And your cover is destructible. And the enemy's are bullet sponges.
@DriveupLife: what? dude its not that fucking hard. even with the bullet sponge enemies.
Even Uncharted 2 had its own frustrating moments. When you're playing those games, expect to die and replay some sequences quite a few times, unless you're playing on the lowest difficulty.
I died A LOT in Uncharted 1 and I died A LOT in Uncharted 2, but I still enjoyed both of them. I just accept the fact that I suck at video games.
The aiming in UC1 isn't that hard actually. It's just that the rifles in the game are really inaccurate. I always get head shots with the pistol. Same goes for UC2 actually.
The way I always pictured it was that the pistol was like Nate's lucky gun, and whatever rifles he had were improvised/stolen off his fellow pirates.
Agreed. I was glad I played it, but man I was ready to throw my controller out the window in the final stretch.

What I think I'm saying is...I played them back to back, and they really are almost identical- and both great. I'm playing the first Resistance now, and wish I could say the same...

I don't understand how most people like shooting guys in Uncharted 2 better, that's what makes me attracted to the first a little more more than the second. I disliked it the first time I played it, then I played it again for a second time, and loved it, played it again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again, and again. Well, I think you understand.I think you're trying to tell us something, but I just can't quite get it. What exactly are you trying to say?
@DriveupLife: This blows my mind and the fact that so many people are saying they are bad games.....wow...
yeah uncharted 2 is a great improvement over 1. I actually got the platinum for 2, and is still the only game I've bothered getting platinum with. I almost considered getting platinum for 1, but then I remembered the jet ski sequence in 1 and said "OH HELL NO!" so yeah.. Uncharted 2 actually wasn't toooo hard more me once I took advantage of stealth kills.
I don't regret playing through the first Uncharted. It was often frustrating, but the story was good (until the crazy stuff at the end). I actually took the time to get a platinum trophy in it. I also would not have gotten the same satisfaction out of the sequel. To see the improvement from the first to the second was incredible, and Among Thieves is among my very favorite games of all time.
