Bargain Bin Review: Unreal Tournament 3.
Most people go through bargain bins because every so often you find a gem like UT3, and you quickly grab it before anyone else and wonder why it would be in such a place. Then you remember back when it was released it simply came and went without so much as a whimper.
The game sticks to the basics and does what it knows best: Frantic, solid online play. UT3 services in this department. If you played a Unreal Tournament before, this will feel pretty much the same. What is new is the ability to have a hover board at all time for quick, easy travel around maps (very helpful for the larger ones).
A single player portion has been added but dear god don't think of it as a highlight. Think of it as a extended tutorial with fancy cutscenes thrown into it. The story is about some war with ugly aliens and blah blah blah you'll exit out and join multiplayer after the first few minutes.
The look of the game is very much Gears of War with a few bright colors here and there. That's not a bad thing, this game is wonderful to look at. Even the guns look incredible, if not a little silly. There are new and old maps and lots of them, each for different types of game play.
This game for $20 is worth it. Solid online play is something you can never go wrong with.
