" I think y'all are missing the point of this sequel. From what I've read and watched, it isn't suppose to be like the first game other than the setting. it's a whole new perspective of the world of Rapture, thus therefore, a whole new gameplay type. In conjunction, those who are complaining about being "too" much of a badass, I'm assuming from this, that y'all didn't get to the end of the first Bioshock.   I for one welcome a change that is still in the same heart and mind of the first one, but from a different outlook. It's a welcome refreshment. However, I do somewhat agree with what one of the previous posters said. Did Bioshock really even need a sequel? It wasn't really set up for one, but whateves! I have a feeling this game will be just as good as the first one, but with a different taste.  "
first of all, i love the first game and i beat it twice.
secondly, while im cautiously excited for bioshock 2, i think that 2k should have made a bioshock 1 prequel, which would take place before the war. i feel like it could have had a much richer story and atmosphere and better rpg elements.

This is looking a lot better and I'm sure it's going to be a quality game, but I still don't care for whatever reason.  It's like games are getting so good so often I don't even want to play all the big releases anymore.
Being awesome isn't unique these days.. or something.

This game looks  less god and more like a sub-par sequel everytime I see anything about it.

God are people cynical.  Do you want the game to blow you and make you sandwiches afterwords too?

The only thing I was worried about was not having a variety of weapons.  Now that I see all kinds of 'em, I'm definitely excited!

I disagree. Games are cool and neat, and really enjoyable, but not a lot of masterpieces come out.

Like many people, I 'm not really feeling this game. I absolutely adore the first one, but it was a perfectly self contained world and story. It in no way needed a follow up, especially if it's going to re-tread a lot of the same ground.

To me, Bioshock was a video game sequel to Atlas Shrugged, turning into the psychotic nightmare that any rational person would realise would occur in a mini-state like the one John Galt creates. I don't need any more Ayn Rand fan-fiction is what I'm trying to say

@MordeaniisChaos: I know it's just anecdotal but every game I've looked forward to this year, with one exception, was actually better than I expected and amazing.  That's never happened for me before.

The trailer looked pretty sweet, though the woman voiceover doesn't nearly give as many chills down my spine as Andrew Ryan's voice did.

I have to agree with all the others saying "Meh". I just am not feeling this, granted, the first was a good, solid game, I didn't get the huge wow factor everyone else got, and I just didn't think it was that great. So this looks pretty much the same, so I just can't get excited for it.

The soundtrack in that trailer impressed me. If there was one thing I really loved in the original, it was the soundtrack. I hope the sequel manages to convey the same dramatic forboding. I'm glad the sea is going to play a more major role this time.

I don't understand the people who say that they're going to ruin Bioshock  with this game. If you don't like it, you don't have to play it, it doesn't make the first one worse. Everybody acts like they own Bioshock but it's still the same people so I don't see why it would be bad.

I feel really bad for saying this, but i'm not feeling this at all. Part of me really wants to explore more of rapture, but everything gameplay about this really turns me off. Show me some story, some THEME. Not just a bunch of shooting. I didn't play Bioshock to shoot things.

This trailer actually made me more excited for the game. I've been pretty indifferent towards it since the concept was first shown. I loved the first game, and I thought a sequel would be great if done right, and by "right", I mean expanding on the ideas and themes from the first game and actually having a sense of progression from story to story. The fact that the sequel is still taking place in Rapture doesn't excite me much. My biggest concern is that the game will feel almost exactly like the first due to the environments. And while that is still true now, the gameplay shown in this trailer looks a lot better than what was shown previously. Hopefully this game will be everything it should be.

Yeeah. As if all of these different embargos on what parts of a game can be talked about by the press at what exact time/date wasn't silly enough. This'll really get the community salivating for those super secret hands-on previews! Bleh.

I think it looks pretty good. Will it live up to the first game? I don't know, probably not. How many games are actually on the same level of quality as Bioshock? Not too many. But I am excited to play this game and I'm going to remain optimistic about the game until I get my hands on it and actually play it myself.

Meh, I felt the original was vastly over hyped, and this just looks like more of the same. I'll probably just get it on steam if/when it drops below £10.

Looking at that it reminds me of a mod or a deathmatch mode for the original Bioshock, nothing other that being able to walk in area filled with water and some new enermies screams something different that should be in a sequal.

I'll admit, it looks damn good. However, I'm still not convinced that there needed to be another BioShock game. The first was amazing in its own right and didn't need a sequel.

It is amazing how quickly it became so popular and trendy to hate on this, a sequel to an all-time classic, before there was almost any hard information released on it. A handful of "celebrity" video game "journalists" such as Gerstmann came out on their pedestals attacking it on podcasts from day one and all of these mindless sheep have jumped on the bandwagon. It's a shame really and pretty embarrassing for the industry as a whole the way they have reacted to even the mention of a sequel. It looks good.

Nice to see gameplay videos of the SINGLEPLAYER....not the horrid looking Multiplayer. I know Multi is special for some players...but really, the singleplayer is what makes Bioshock stand out from other FPSes.

Why does there always have to be a british womans voice though??

Ok... My opinion is changing.  The action looked... well actiony.  ok... but the Voice Over... that stuff was exciting...  Rapture plunged even further into chaos... No Andrew Ryan or Atlas... Nutcases weilding more power.  Probably won't be as scary since you are a big daddy... but... this story could rock.  My meter went from "I'll probably play it" to "resonably stoked."  Not quite to pre-order stage yet... but we'll see.

I'm not quite understanding the people who are pissing and moaning about "more of the same look." ... You're aware you're in the same location, right? Not much is going to change...

Having said that, I'm becoming increasingly sure that the lofty expectations I have coming out of the first game will not be met by this one. The eerie mystery of "what the fuck is going on here" just doesn't seem like the focus from all these trailers. Story and atmosphere, not shooting, made the first one. I hope and pray they realized that while working on this one.

Case in point, anyone remember the CG trailer of the first one? You remember how amazingly stoked that made you? I have yet to get that from any of the footage I've seen for this one.

But, it's Bioshock, and the first one may very well be my favorite game of this generation, so I'll be buying it day one.
