So Inafune leaves, they don't have a direction for the game, so they're going to charge for some sort of beta where people can design shit to go on a full copy...so people can buy it again to see if their creation made it into the game? Is this how I'm understanding this?

The full game hasn't even been greenlit. They've basically come out and said that if this doesn't sell well enough, the full game won't get made. Even if you don't think this looks good, it's just an early version of a game that may not exist, and buying it can help make it look better!

I think all of us who actually own a 3DS are probabl guaranteed to buy this...
