Is that Bryce Papenbrook again as the main character? I'm usually one to defend a lot of dub/english voice acting stuff, but I seriously can't stand that guy and he's been the MC in a ton of stuff lately.

I am very excited for the game,there is likely a reason it kept saying on the bottom it can be played in Japanese audio.

Holy shit, there better be Japanese voice acting with subs because that English dub was terrible. The game still looks great though.

Every single time you hear the voice acting it says "Choose between English and Japanese voice overs" in captions underneath. So I'm guessing even they knew how bad this was.

@flappy: The voice acting is far, far better than Chaos Wars. What you're comparing isn't in the same galaxy.

Questionable dub choices aside (You can use the Japanese voice track if it bothers you so much), this is one of my more anticipated RPGs for next year. It's basically a spiritual sequel to Final Fantasy V from the developers of 3D Dot Game Heroes. I've also heard that while the characters and setting sound generic on the surface, it's just a ruse, as the story is supposed to go off in some interesting and unique directions. Plus, we're getting the updated "For the Sequel" version, which has a bunch of improvements over the 2012 original.

It says so right there in the trailer: you can switch to JP audio.

@alexandersheen: It really isn't. Even ignoring the blown out audio, the voice actors sound like they're half-asleep and reading off a page.

Well thank goodness you can swap to the Japanese voice acting. I've been looking forward to this quite a bit after hearing about it on the 8-4 podcast. Looks good, except for that awful english voice talent.

The battle system revolves around the options to Brave or Default. To Brave is to attack that use up command currency. To Default is to do nothing and save command currency. On the assumption that the battle system was devised before the title, it's not too hard to see such important terminology of the game make its way to the title. I've gotten the sense that the subtitle for the first version of the game, "Flying Fairy," relates to the narrative. ("For the Sequel / Where the Fairy Flies" is an improved version of the game.)

Yes, it is still a very silly name. Personally, I see it as a feature of Japanese games now.

I was wondering why the artstyle reminded me so much of FF3 DS, but then I saw it was made by Square Enix.

I don't find the voice acting very offensive at all. I actually wonder what all the fuss is about? Of course I'm not saying it's good voice acting, but come on guys its not THAT bad in this trailer.

@infinitegeass: I agree. I get that it's suppose to be funny but like... I get the impression he's not even trying here, which isn't cool.

Either way, I hope there's an option to mute the voices entirely. I've never liked voice acting in handheld games. I even muted the dialog in Shin Megami Tensei IV.
