Well this looks awesome, but....this might sound weird but I really wanted a Halo movie, it could have been so AWESOME

I'm interested in the flick, but at the same time, I'm sick of this "hey, check out the alien/monster blah blah blah in a documentary style grainy camera way".  It doesn't make it more realistic or anything.  It simply makes me realize they are trying to use a gimmick to make all those idiot MySpace moviegoers believe they are being artsy by seeing this movie and discussing it.

Is this an "Game to movie" movie?

For the research I did into my Summer Movie post in Off-Topic, I ran across this movie.  From what I gather, it's on the same order as 1988's Alien Nation.  Refugee aliens come to Earth, settle in South Africa and do the types of jobs humans don't want.  As a result they become the new 3rd-class population.

Looks fresh and compelling. I'm intrigued.

Neill Blomkampf made a short about this very topic a few years ago.  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNReejO7Zu8  It looks like they're making it into a full length movie since Halo the Movie  is not (currently?) happening.  Definitely check the short out, it is very interesting, not at all what you'd expect.

the warm-up for Halo movie

@Jakob187:  if you're comparing this movie to something like Cloverfield, I don't really think it's too similar.

This movie has a lot better technical camera-work, for one... and the concept seems very intriguing.  or at least how it's presented.

this had me interested until they showed the alien. I was thinking that they would not show the aliens at all in the movie, which would've been pretty deep. oh well, could still be interesting.

I saw the "Humans Only" signs all over Comic Con and found out about this then.  But I didn't know if it was going to be a movie, a TV series, or a game.  Now I know.  :)

I was really impressed by Blomkamp's "Alive in Joburg" (the short film he did a few years back and is the inspiration for this film).  To do a larger, full length version of this film feels like a good decision.  After watching the short film a bunch of times, I keep wishing there was more of it (it only runs about 6 minutes).  I'm just not sure his style (psudo-documentarian with gritty, almost low tech, effects) is going to grab a large audience.  My bigger concern: this movie will be released on around 10 screens at most.

If I can find someplace that's showing it, I would love to check it out. 

Why didn't they let him make Halo!!! Who cares how expensive it would have been. I want it now.
