E3 2017: Undertale's Undergone Some Changes for PS4/Vita

I was worried this is a sequel at first, had visions of two more years of people telling me I have to play Undertale. Then again that still might happen...

This is really good trailer.

I really hate the voice of that dog. Hope that's not how Toby actually sounds.

Does anyone know if the PS4 and Vita versions will support cross-save?

I deleted Undertale after 45 minutes, I really disliked it. (Jazzpunk had the same effect on me - I don't think I like mega-humour in video games that much I've now realised)

We've gone full circle, now comment sections about this game are filled with people who just HAVE to let everyone know how much they don't like the game.

Time to dust off the Vita! Never finished this on PC but it looks like it will be perfect on my Vita for commute gaming!

That's the natural progression, really. As soon as a fanbase gets too loud there's always this kind of backlash. The original Nier fanbase was gettin there as well, thankfully not as aggresively as Undertale fans.

Also, Undertale is a good game. People should check it out on PS4/Vita if they haven't played it on PC.

If you heard about anything as much as I've heard about Untertale from my 10 year old (who hasn't even played the game but loves it because other school kids do), you'd hate it too. Luckily for me though, I've heard a lot less about Five Nights at Freddy's since all this Undertale business, so I have Undertale to thank for that.

I do actually want to give the game a try though. Now that it's portable I think it's time.

Happens with something new, like, every year. Something blows up, people who are into it genuinely wish to share their excitement with the world but some do it in an unintentionally abrasive way, people who aren't into the thing get sick of hearing about it and some complain about it in an unnecessarily offensive way, which makes the people who like the thing but aren't actively advocating it feel like they have to defend their opinion, which can only be done by attempting to explain why the thing is good - which leads to more people being even more sick about hearing about it, some of which then going out of their way to bash fans of the thing in question, which leads to even more people getting on the defensive...

Hey. It's a good game. Glad more people will get the chance to play it (hopefully) on their terms. Also, excellent trailer with excellent references to actual in-game events that still make sense out of context.

I could see myself being in the state of mind where I'd feel the same about Undertale, but I'm glad I gave it the benefit of the doubt.

That said, I think the best content in Undertale is where you go out of your way to kill everyone.

It's an allegory for life, really.

What a great trailer! Hah, I do wonder what new things they're actually adding to the game, though. Intriguing!

It's nice to see the game reach other platforms, although considering the underlying messages it has about "Perverted Sentimentality", I find it bizarre that there's a special edition containing a music box locket. Isn't it a bit hypocritical?

I wonder how they are going to deal with THAT scene in the neutral endgame.

Undertale was a great game with a better soundtrack.

I don't think I need to play this game again but I might end up buying a disc copy just to have it. Man, what an incredible little thing.

I tried to play Undertale twice. Got about an hour in and bounced off it. I'm cool with letting this be a thing for other people, but I am completely mystified by the hyperbolic reaction to it. I thought it wasn't that fun or funny.

For the longest time I figured it would never come out on any other platform because of that, and I'm really curious to see where that part goes now.

Did you get out of the Ruins? Did you make it to the second boss fight(Papyrus)? If you managed to get through the Papyrus fight without enjoying it then the game probably isn't for you, but the Ruins(the purple tutorial area) is unfortunately the worst part of the game, made two years prior to the rest of the game as an obligation for kickstarter backers, and it shows.

To be honest it isn't that I hate or even dislike Undertale, just, the amount of times I hear about it and people tell me to play it, it makes me want to do the opposite. Jeff is the same as I recall and this isn't restricted to Undertale.

This first time, I didn't get out of the ruins, to be fair. The second time, I remember getting out into some woods or something, and a skeleton guy was there, and there definitely seemed to be a bunch of jokes all of a sudden that didn't really click with me.

Been wanted to get this! This sick trailer now put the game at the top of my list.

I like Undertale a lot though I suspect it's only truly appreciable if you've been playing video games for a very long time. There's some side stuff I never even saw in my play through. Never did put Temmie through college...

I will never forget playing through undertale for the first time. Never. It's a truly special game. That being said, I can't see myself playing it again.

This is so surprising. Didn't Toby Fox say not too long ago that he had no desire to bring this to consoles?

Kind of excited to play this again now since I only saw one ending.

Could someone spoiler what it is you're referring to? Neutral ending is the only one I got and I still can't work out what it is you're talking about. :)
