They didn't. They reskinned Clash Royale, Phone Destroyer, or the other billions of games on the market with command and conquer assets in an attempt to milk cash out of people who have been waiting for the next great RTS from the series.

The game's terrible, honestly.

@bleachedblind: yup, exactly like the Titanfall mobile game, which killed it for me.

Lol. I think GDI got its base destroyed every time in this trailer. This is definitely more in-depth and mechanically complex than games like Clash Royale or Clash. They have more than a few systems going on, and it does seem to be focused on micro - you're controlling a diverse array of units and base upkeep. Whether or not that's fun is another story. I am not optimistic. IMO, it's paradoxically too much strategy game in this form, but we shall see.

I mean I've tried multiple times to get invested in this as a long time fan of C&C but this just isn't doing it for me.

I liked the core gameplay of Clash Royal, and the main reason I stopped playing that was because the higher rank I got, the worse the opponents behaved.

I'm interesting in trying C&C: Rivals, it seems like it can scratch a similar itch. Just waiting for it to unlock on the Google Play store.
