E3 2018: Lü Bu Is Still a Threat in Total War: Three Kingdoms

I'm really surprised they hadn't done a Total War game during the Three Kingdoms period before now.

It should be like Shee-ah/Shyah Pee You'd think a multimillion dollar dev company could learn some proper mandarin pronunciation before making this. He pronounces Cao Cao wrong, it should be more like Tsao Tsao rather than Sao Sao. No idea why they've got a damn umlaut on Lu Bu's name.

He pronounces Xiahou Dun totally wrong, I can't even write what he said down but it's meant to be Shyah-Hoe, not whatever the hell he said (something like Jay-how?)

Have to say i like what i see so far, although i hope the duels will not slow the flow of battle.

If only this game came when I had any faith at all in CA's ability to produce a fun, mechanically sound game. Hell I don't even trust them to produce a game that works on the most fundamental of levels these days.

I thought Warhammer 1 and 2 were exceptional, And I had little to no technical issues with them.

I'm really happy they're finally doing this period. Annoyed that they are tackling this period because an excellent mod for Shogun 2 stopped work because of it.

And also have very little faith it'll be good. The last good Total War was Medieval 2 and Empire was barely serviceable after that, have not had much fun with them after that.

I totally agree. I think Warhammer 1 and 2 are the best games they have done both on a gameplay and a technical level.

If you've watched any CA videos before and heard how they pronounce "melee", your expectations would be more realistic

@demsale: They've got an umlaut because Lü Bu is spelled with an umlaut

@probablytuna: I feel like you either need to pronounce it as accurately as reasonably possible, or exactly like they do in the English track for Dynasty Warriors.

I know this is an unpopular option but empire was my favorite of the series. I loved Rome way back when and medieval 2 needs a revisit for sure. Shogun and the recent Rome just didn’t give satisfaction in terms of rts
