Oh yeah, this game still looks awesome.

This is my most anticipated title for the first half of 2012. Can't wait to get my hands on it.

the coop oddly strikes me interesting.

They really need to drop the pistols, SMGs and rifles for this game. I like the minigun, but it needs more ridicolously huge overpowering weapons like rocket launchers and laser cannons. Syndicate isn't about small-arms infiltration, it's about wrecking shit up.

Looks more and more interesting... Might be a more gun/action oriented Deus Ex.

Because they only appear as YouTube links for non-premium members, and if they were in HD, that wouldn't be a punishment.

Why do we need to be punished if hosting HD content on Youtube is free?

Another once innovative franchise turned into a generic shooter.

Still not sold, I'm concerned this game is going to lack polish, and it's not heavy enough on art and design to keep from looking totally generic.

Uzis are such homey weapons; they're fun, they're noisy and they shoot hot lead. Machine guns are as old fashioned as home-baked bread and front porch swings. Lots of civvies carry them for personal defense, and likewise most people carry shields that can withstand a couple of rounds out of one. Really they're not much more effective than yelling (or shoving, to be more accurate), unless you're aiming at someone who's wandering around in nothing but cloth clothes and sandals. Real killers don't tend to use them unless their own gun jams and there happens to be an Uzi lying on the ground nearby.

Now, Miniguns are a businessman's weapon; the next step up from an Uzi. One advantage is that it's more precise than, say, Razor Wire. It's more powerful than a machine gun, plus it has a wider range. No one doubts that it is definitely more destructive than a Persuadertron. Its cost is will within the affordable range, and in numbers can do considerable damage.

Miniguns are useful for destroying cars and lightly armored people. Anyone who arms his Agents with less than a Minigun won't have very many Agents for long.

Yeah...I'm definitely getting this.

This is tricky isn't it. I guess the best reason has to be that uploading HD assets costs more in bandwidth than they would save up by asking for memberships? I don't know who did the math on it but it doesn't make sense to me. To be honest, if I were Whiskey, i'd do ALL my video hosting on youtube in the first place. Solid, industry standard hosting, no cost, and no bandwidth concerns.

I understand they need the moneys, but if bandwidth was indeed the primary cost concern, if they're hosting the sites on S3 and doing media serving through YouTube, where exactly does the huge cost come from other than simply paying the bills for rent, salaries and power? This site should, theoretically, run itself by now.

Then again, maybe they just plain want to get paid. That's fair too though. It's not like it's an expensive membership.

Don't care at all. Having not known anything about Syndicate before this trailer, I now know a few things:

1.) They act like Co-Op is some kind of big deal. It's 2011 ya'll, Co Op is a joke because Campaigns are going the way of the dinosaur.

2.) It does not look graphically appealing.

3.) It does not look fun.

4.) This was a well edited trailer.

Anyway, I won't buy anything EA after the BF3/Origin fiasco.

Dudes complaining about the female designs here are fucking wankers, and need to talk to some actual girls about these designs. Just saying.

I like the way they snuck in a sample from the original theme music in the middle there.

This new video system is ridiculous. That trailer is in HD all over Youtube, so I'm just going to watch it there. I can understand having YOUR OWN CONTENT in SD to encourage subscribers (by all means do so!) but for things like this where I can simply look down in the comments and see someone has posted an HD version of this trailer, you're telling me that your site isn't offering me anything to stick around for.

This. While I am contemplating the reason for switching to other gaming sites, I was wondering what would happen to the newbies that will eventually stumble upon Giantbomb. They probably be saying "Pffft 360p" then move on to the next search result without even knowing about the subscriber benefit with HD in which they would probably be getting free from other sites with a simple click. They would never know such great content generated by Giantbomb with its awesome Quicklooks and Throwdowns.

I'll tell you this, they should have gone with ADS instead of SUBS.

Much as I love Starbreeze (and I do..probably too much) they've never really shown much propensity for compelling MP...I hope this doesn't impact too much on their excellent storytelling/atmospherics, and turns out to be a worth while addition to the game instead of a publisher imposed folly.

I guess 4 player FPS co-op is a decent ghetto attempt at re-creating the multi-unit action from the original that will still sell well today
