The Assault rifle and the hand model on the pistol look really ugly when compared against Reach.

Well at least the pre order bonus is something silly like a skull modifier and not something like armor you'll never get any other way.

This should be no more than a 1200 Point Xbox Live Arcade Game..... But no... In the UK it is £35... That's basically a full price game... Microsoft can go shove it, i'll pick it up from the pre-owned bargain bin for £6 a year from now.

Cool for all the Halo-heads out there but I definitely will not pick this up.
 
Loved the first Halo's multiplayer but this game isn't shipping with it. I know, I know - 343 said they're making a CLASSIC mode playable for when the game comes out but that's just Spanish for "not the same thing."

For a game with modernized graphics and 7 Halo: Reach maps? I thinks it's a good deal, I'm glad they aren't charging 60$.

All it takes is for one enemy to go flying for this to become instantly worth it:) A really cool pre-order bonus. It actually changes the way you play the game, and is fun. Instead of some useless visual palette swap, like putting painted flames on Chief's armor or something.

This and Skyrim are the only two games I must get this year. Sure, Gears 3 and Deus Ex look great as well, but this looks really good.

It's not a very cool skull though. As long as everyone get's grunt birthday, I'm happy. No way in hell will this be as satisfying as headshots=children cheering and confetti grenades.

You won't get your skull, silly boy. Or be able to take the cellophane off. Or be able to play one of the most overrated games in history at the same time as loads of other people with rose tinted spectacles. Yeah - boo me. I'll be doing panto in Eastborne this Christmas.

Everyone I know who has gone back to play Halo: Combat Evolved has loved it just as much. Myself included. It's like Half Life 2, it really really holds up well, even visually. The gameplay is polished, really enjoyable, challenging in just the right way (CE has the best campaign of all of them in terms of how enjoyable Legendary is, imo), and just awesome. Things like explosions setting off more grenades and things, the journey you go on, it's all still really enjoyable. This is no Golden Eye or Perfect Dark my friend.

game of the year in my book.  I might be biased though since the original Halo is still my favorite game.

I hope I can still one shot hunters from the back with the pistol

I'll be buying the game anyways. Might as well pre-order this just for the option.

It's like they're just layering a coat of paint on it. Everything's the same, it's just higher resolution, and much much better textures. Not that that's bad, and I know that's what their goal was, but just saying. I kind of wish there was some new animations. Actually, in the end, everything will feel just right, and it won't matter.

I'm pretty sure the visuals are the quality of Halo: Reach which is one of the best looking Xbox exclusives.

The best part about this remake is going to be the online multiplayer so I'm not sure why they would focus on single player preorder stuff for a game that isn't even that old. I guess you have to do some kind of preorder on a game this big in today's markets.

The multiplayer is just a bunch of the maps remade for Halo: Reach. They'll pack in Reach's multiplayer into the game, so it's nothing new there.
