I actually like how they are handling the Batman from the Lego games and the Batman from The Lego Movie. Funny stuff.

This is the kind of thing I want from Disney Infinity

Never been super into LEGO, though, so I doubt i'll ever get into this. Don't feel like investing in all of those figures...one figures based game is enough for my wallet and I have more of an attachment to the Disney Infinity cast than anything from LEGO.

One of the things that impresses me about this is the separation of the LEGO Batman and LEGO Movie Batman characters in animation style and movement. In the LEGO Movie they were mimicking stop motion so all characters were constrained by the physical joints and ranges of motion of an actual plastic Minifig. However in the TT Games LEGO games characters animate and move without those constraints (i.e. legs and torsos twist and bend in all directions). To see those two Bat... men side-by-side animating in two completely different ways just makes me smile.

It's that sort of attention to detail that has lead to the TT Games LEGO titles being some of the most refreshingly complete and well made games of the last decade.

I'll probably pick this up on sale, if the writing is half as clever as the lego movie it'll be a fine product. But for a hundred dollars...ehh.

How does each character recognise the others? In each one of their universes do they know the fiction of the others. Have the people in Gotham read the Lord of the Rings books? Do the hobbits have comic books?

I don't know who writes these stories for them, but they're making Lego so much money. This is on paper a very cynical cash grab, but that trailer, just like the movie, sounds like someone is having genuine fun with the characters instead of being constrained by all the licenses.

Nothing in the gameplay of these ever feels half as sophisticated as the story and humour. I have to keep reminding myself that I really don't like how the games play to avoid getting charmed intro a purchase every time.

When I first saw the title I was actually expecting a video about the back end business dealings of how they brought all these IPs together and was way more excited about that inside baseball than this pretty expensive trailer.

Tempting. I love Lego as a company and a product, and everything they've been making for the last half a decade at least has been really outstanding in quality.

I really want to get this but the £90 for the started pack sucks.
