Rented 1 and despised it, rented 2 after reading reviews and it was ok but not great. Got 3 as a launch title because of the co-op and absolutely adored it. Got 4 because I liked 3 and it was one of my favorite games of all of '16. The less Japanese it gets the happier I am.

Loved the first two games, 3 was fine. Have yet to play 4.

I haven't played 4 yet but I liked 3 a lot. I'm in the camp of- the less time shit the less soul crushing these games are.

AHHHHH! nah, i adore the first two games, i'm just no good at playing them, 3 does enough of the Dead Rising thing while becoming a much more playable game which i really really enjoyed (just finished it 2 days ago), going to check out 4 when it's on Steam at some point, but it kinda looks like they had less budget to make it judging from the quick look, so it could feel like a mild expansion of 3, though older more belligerent Frank West seems kinda funny.

@cikame: I felt the same way about 1 during the first few hours, but once you reset once and get a feel for it, it becomes such a fun experience.

I hated Dead Rising back in the day but as I mentioned in chat last night it was mostly due to me being a college student with two jobs and very little spare time to squeeze in some gaming - last thing I needed was a timer and no checkpoints when those precious 90 free minutes rolled around.

Dead Rising 1 is my favorite game of all time.

I'm a big fan of having Rorie in more content.

Video converter suggestion, i use Wondershare Video Converter for all my flv conversion needs, no idea if it'll handle a 24 hour video however.

The first game was trash. Also the reason why I bought a 360. I mean, seriously, the only part that's fun is the part where it's Dynasty Warriors.

This is making me want to play the first Dead Rising again. I think that might be a mistake.

Man, this game is so good. And to think Capcom never really understood what made the first game so great.

3 was by far my favorite.

But, that likely has somethign to do with the fact that I never played 1 and 2 on consoles, and 3 was my first DR game. Actually, I still haven't played DR1, I did play some OTR though, which is cool.

If you do this, be sure to grab one of the HD versions with multiple save slots. DR1 is a great game with some serious rough edges (survivor AI) and the hard time limits don't appeal to everyone. That said, I had a blast returning to it in 2016 and even got the Transmissionary achievement this time.

Mathew Rorie has the worst memory of the GB staff

The voice of the hatchet boss sounded so familiar but I just couldn't put my finger on it…finally the death scene made me realize I remember the voice from killer7. He played Benjamin Keane amongst other characters.

Oh yeah, back when Capcom were still putting out good games... I remember Alex's review of Dead Rising being a key proponent for me buying a 360 and this game and I did not regret it. I think what I liked most about it was how it almost felt more like an evolved arcade game than what we consider as a modern video game of the time and as a child of the arcades it really spoke to me. I'd almost consider this a beat-em up with the items and enemies you interact with. The design of it was pretty clunky even back then. I played a too much of this game to the point that if I play one of the HD remakes I would want to try Off-The-Record instead.

DR1 is the best Dead Rising game!

@ultimatefist: i despise it. i think they're just putting it in out of tradition but it always annoys me.

This makes me very happy. Loved this game at release and loved it playing the PC version recently.

I respect the weirdness of the older Dead Rising games but kinda feel like they took 3 tries to actually make a good game.
