I really am liking what I'm seeing, even if the actually style of the characters turns me off. Still the world is awesome and the premise is awesome - screw Assassin's Creed; THIS is the most interesting assassin in gaming! This is like, the next Bioshock, almost - all the options, the detailed world, the great atmosphere. And I love how it's focused on action, pure action. Games with this kind of, "There are 3 approaches to do this"-gameplay tend to be bogged down with RPG elements and too many sidequests for my taste (I'm looking at you, Deus Ex). I can't wait for this.

Bethesda, if you keep bringing up new IP like this, you'll end up the most big publisher out there, just like 2K.

And just the other day, I was looking at this student game and wondering why a big budget console game didn't have the "blink"/teleporting mechanic. I totally forgot about Dishonored!

It seems like they've clearly taken a bit from the "The Crossing" game that was delayed and cancelled.

For the PC version I hope they include a FOV slider, cause that FOV SUCKED. No doubt I'll get a little uneasy playing it if it stays that narrow.

I was already sold on this game before, but I didn't know you could possess things and be completely non-lethal including targets. Amazing.

I'm really pro-stealth and all, but am i alone in wishing this was third, rather than first-person?

Really beautiful setting. The stealth seems to have that nice balance that the Arkham games have.

@Binman88: I'm really hoping the FOV will be adjustable, because I felt the same while watching this.

That aside, this demo sold me on this game more than anything I've read so far.

This right here is the reason I play games. I wanna do awesome ass shit and mix all kinds of stealthy and actiony actions and come out on top, glorious and fulfilled.

Aside from the meh, cartoony Borderlands visual style and animations, and the funky Bioshock UI, this game looks one of a kind.

LOL that guy is like, "don't mind me, I'm just peaking around the corner to have a look at you. ;) "

Yup this is a video game-ass video game.

Hunting the target, finds the room he's in but he's behind an "an unlockable door so you have to find a key" ... So you can possess a fish and transplant your ENTIRE BODY into it, but opening a mythical unlockable door is impossible? Video game-ass video game is right.

Still looks good, but people may need to reign in their expectations.

Eh, or just know what the game is going for. It's fine for games to go for fun first rather than some form of 'reality'. I think doing reality in games is so fucking hard, not just to achieve it visually or in it's mechanics but to then actually make it interesting and fun to play is like some next level shit where you need some true vision to accomplish. Also it takes all the money, like all of the damn money, to make a game that aims for realism to that degree.

I expect Dishonoured to be a great game, whether or not it does 'gamey' things like the things pointed out is sort of a different matter.

I get what you mean, but I'm not pushing for realism. What bugs me is when a game sets up the rules of the world and then break them. Remember in The Getaway on PS2 how you had to escape a police station but you couldn't pick up guns off dead cops until you found the right gun in the storage room. That's the only example I can think of off the top of my head, but you know what I mean, video game bullshit.

I appreciate this is a new IP and they're going for something new (I'm almost assuredly a 'day-one' buyer) but this stuff annoys me. I want the verisimilitude of this game to be a strong as something like BioShock... If I keep seeing the "video-gamey-ness" I know it'll annoy me a little... I just need a better explanation then "it's a locked door, but unlike the thousands of other locked doors this one is locked really well."

Not trying to sound overly negative... :-\
