Well, Mortal Kombat did come out today. So this  is at least as relevant as that.

At least it looks better than that other Sonic game that didn't look better than this...

I had a Sonic game for the Dreamcast and that was fun but that was yeaaaaars ago. There are so many more interesting games nowadays.

It's seems that they are still only 50% convinced that the people who still want Sonic games want classic Sonic only.

I really want Sonic to come back to the good ol' days, but I don't think it'll ever happen.

at least they're making fun games again with Sonic 4 and Sonic Colors instead of the crap they were pushing out for a while there.

also, for context, I'm the kind of sonic fan who liked Sonic Adventure 1 & 2 but totally fell off when they made Sonic Heroes.

This express my feelings on Sonic:
  

Press 'A', press and hold 'A', let go for a second and press and hold 'A' again, now press 'A' for 15 minutes. Press 'A', Let go of 'A' for about 2 seconds and then press 'A', Press 'A' some, then drop the controller and take game back to shop.

You get the picture...

Please be great, just this once. Sonic unleashed was an awful game, but the day levels were actually kinda great. So if this just that, and no HES A WEREWOLF AT NIGHT bs then i believe this maybe could be great. 

So we're to assume these are two separate characters, or is this like a "Shattered Dimensions" kind of deal? Either way I still don't care about Sonic...

I'm going to go ahead and say I'm anticipating this. I had fun with the daytime portions of Sonic Unleashed. I had fun with all of Sonic Colors. I'd like to think I know good Sonic games from bad Sonic games.

If somebody told me, "Do you want us to make Sonic Unleashed 2, except instead of levels mimicking real-world countries, we just remake old Genesis levels and then replace the bits were you play as the Werehog with a fully 2D classic Sonic?"

I would say "Yes, please."

And that is what this looks like. I think the days of Rejected-from-Final-Fantasy Princesses kissing greasy hedgehog muppets are long since past.

Pretending like the Sonic Cycle is still relevant anymore is just being curmudgeonly.

Totally amused at how many people are criticising a Sonic game they haven't even played, and yet... today is the day we get that other product of the 90's: Mortal Kombat 9, and everyone on this site couldn't be more happy about the nostalgia.

They haven't even finished releasing all the episodes to Sonic 4, and they're announcing yet ANOTHER Sonic game? Brilliant move.
