So are they the same levels but for each character in different perspectives? 'Classic'  Sonic = Sidescrolling and 'Modern' Sonic = Towards the screen?

Sega, just stop doing this to us. I was actually ok with the classic sonic element with 3D sidescrolling, and then you go and bring in Modern Sonic :/

You guys should watch the gameplay video. Still, it's Sonic and nothing new.

But what about Shadow and his guns?

Huh, the trailer makes it seem like you can play stages from a 2D, or 3D perspective.  That'd make it worthwhile if the levels are any good.

Dimps should be the only ones allowed to make Sonic games anymore. Yes, I know they made Sonic 4, but hopefully that was an anomaly, because their GBA/DS Sonic games have all been great.

Looks totally like a throwback to the old games. Looked pretty good, too! Enjoyed the look of the sky and the speed. It may be a trailer, but I didn't notice any frame rate issues either. I also liked how it was just Sonic.

Hopefully the "Sonic Cycle" isn't upon us with this one. It looks quite slick!

I'm interested. I wonder how the two different play styles will interact. I guess the simplest way would be that there are two separate games in the title that use the same graphical assets.

Am I the only one here that LIKED the non-Werehog levels in Unleashed and most levels in Colors, thought Sonic 4 was good, and thinks this looks fun? Seems that way.

Is it really that amusing considering everyone is saying the new MK is good and Sonic hasn't proven itself to be quality over the last ten years. People care about good games, it doesn't matter if the game is nostalgic or not. ... does this Sonic game look good to you? "

Not true, they've been awful.  The absolute epitome of everything that's wrong with modern Sonic games.

I didn't play Sonic Colours, though I have heard good things about it..  And this one looks surprisingly good, at least the bits without modern Sonic.  I see bright colours, good platforming and everything else that made the original games great.  The chubby Sonic looks so much better..  Maybe they should go back and call this one Sonic 4?

Sonic Colours was good and GB even liked it. Not sure why people are still critiscising it despite Sonic's recent progress. That includes the poster of the vid, not sure why he's suggesting no one wants more Sonic, when the site itself gave it a thumbs up.

Needs Old Yeller mode. Sorry having two sonics pretty much the same except one is 2d & one is 3d for the gameplay doesn't help set things apart. Guess they couldn't do playing as Sonic or Shadow as that's probably been done.

Team Sonic, beating dead horses for lots of the 20 years. Guessing this one won't be that much different.

The 2D platforming elements look good, and if the 3d stuff is similar to Sonic Colors, then I'm tentatively excited for this.  Not at full price, but this could be fun.

Sonic has never been good...

I can't say that I'm upset with this Sonic. It looks good. Then again, I have been a sucker after Sonic 3. BTW, where's tails?

I'm just going to continue sitting over here, not giving a shit about Sonic anymore like the rest of the sensible gamer population continues to.

This reminded me that I still haven't bought Sonic Colors. Oh well.

Fuck modern Sonic, classic Sonic all the way!
