Singularity: Action Vignettes

This game looks like it needs more development time.

Looks average. Reminds me of a game called Timeshift, which was very average

I like Raven Software. Especially what they did a long time ago with Star Trek: Elite Force. So hopefully this will turn out.

They do have some things going for it. It does seam like it needs a bit more time in development thats a givin( hit detection for one) It could be good, but right now its looking pretty generic.

Man, the first few vids looked great.  This isn't too impressive.  I'm still paying attention to it as a possible buy, BUT no guarantees.

Looks cool, but the aiming seems weird, that or whoever is playing sucks.

I like how the stages are set up in such a way that it's REALLY convenient for anyone who has time-fisting powers.  It's like how the environments in Gears of War are silly with low walls.

Generic at best.

Give it 8 months more production time with the best minds in the industry and... it might be a decent game.  Now it just looks average.

Time manipulation games are hard to get right.

Call it "HaloShock: Modern Warfare." It looks like a pretty generic game and it will be generic because it has zero originality to it.

Bioshock .5 anyone?

Dude that hand is basically a ripoff of the Gravity Gun from Half Life and the blood effects look like early PS2 crap, this won't even be a rent for me.

Dear Raven Software,

Please drop this and make another awesome Jedi Knight game with realistic saber dismemberment. The world begs for one...

I like the look of the whole thing, kinda TF2, but not all the way cartoony. I'm interested, but papercut does have a point, it seems very scripted, which probably isn't gonna end up that good.

This looks really promising. And for everyone who says that Timeshift was  bad I enjoyed it and I know a few people who also liked it I gauss its just a matter of opinion.

I dunno why people are all leaving negative comments. The game looks pretty nice the clever use of physics and all those different powers you get to throw at enemies. I mean, who doesn't like melting people's faces in any context? Also, Raven Software is the team that brought us Jedi Outcast (still one of my favorite fps's of all time), so I'm gonna trust that they'll put out a quality game.

A note to ye other posters, you probably shouldn't let other people's comments affect your critique of the video and especially your opinion on the game.

Of course this game needs more "time in development" (as many of you copy-and-pasted from the first guy who said it), why do you think it's still in development and not out on shelves right now?

I think this video had some particularly impressive visuals, and showcased a bit of the fun you could have with the time mechanic. Don't look at the first person shooter parts of the video and say "oh, I've seen that before so who cares?" You could watch short videos of the run-and-gun parts in Half-Life 2 or Killzone 2 and see they look "pretty generic" too, yet those games are lauded as the best games ever made. Those games (and hopefully this game too) shine in their storytelling and level design, as there is only so much you can do to make pointing-and-shooting somehow more exciting and accessible.So, you know, what's with the hate?

(Yeah, I know, Singularity doesn't need to me to defend it or anything. It's just worth pointing out that the majority of user comments always lean one way or the other, regardless of what's actually in the video)

This actually got my hopes up from the first time I read about it. If they can pull it off as well as Valve did with the gravity gun, we'll have a new contender on the weapon-of-the-year-list.

i agree that it needs more dev time, but it still has till fall to polish it up.  I like playing with time and/or physics in games so they got me on the gimmick.  Who doesn't like fast-forwarding someone's personal timeline to the point that they are a decayed skeleton.
