Surprise! There's a New Uncharted Game for the PlayStation 4

Not surprising, but I cant wait to see what they are able to do with the new hardware.

uncharted was an amazing looking game even in the current gen's mid life cycle.

Interesting. Last of Us was a smash hit coming off the lukewarm reception of Uncharted 3, surprised they're going back to that well.

So this seems simple.... the island circled is St. Mary's Island off the coast of madagascar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%C3%8Ele_Sainte-Marie ... It is the rumored home of Libertalia http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertalia a Pirate utopia who's Motto was "for God and Liberty", words written underneath the island in the video. Fits the template, Lost City, famous Captain, in this case Captain Kidd.

Hopefully this will take a good long time and they'll put a discounted Uncharted PS4 bundle.

I am intrigued by the distinct lack of Drake in this trailer.

noticed a few ND people, even Cowboy, mentioning "Drake" but not "Nathan" when tweeting about the game... maybe its Sir Francis this time... maybe thats obvious and I just now realized it... hmm...

I don't know why I was expecting to see something more.

I was hoping they would start a new franchise on a new console again, like they did with Uncharted for the PS3. I've already charted plenty. It's time to mix things up.

With the game going back to Sir. Francis Drake (and it is: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Libertalia, Misson was a part of Drake's crew) I am interested to see how the multiplayer is affected? Considering there will be no automatic weapons/modern guns etc.

I loved tonight's flow of "hey look at this logo" trailer.

I thought we would get the next ND game at the VGAs, but tonight makes sense. Not too bummed about another Uncharted knowing that ND has two teams.

Well I'm interested but also kinda sad. Hope it's better than Uncharted 3 at least.

Didn't Uncharted 3 establish that someone wasn't who they claimed to be? I don't want to spoil anything but that's what I got from the story

I'm gonna echo some of the sentiment here and say that I wish they'd have moved on to something new. While I'm interested in seeing certain sequels on next gen (inFamous yo), the old shit in higher resolution probably isn't going to get me to buy one of these machines any time soon.

My guess. Nate stole the identity of Drake and a real descendant of Drake is coming for payback

So, any confirmation on whether the whole team will be working on it?

I know the best of the developer were off making The Last of Us while the others made Uncharted 3; so, considering the new DLC for The Last of Us, should we expect the lesser team out there again with Uncharted? Or will only part of The Last of Us team work on the DLC while the rest come together again to make this new Uncharted?

I just want to know whether to really be that excited about this announcement or not.

Thank god they're not trying to continue the Nathan Drake storyline.

I am fully ready to be excited for a new Uncharted game that Naughty Dog is passionate about making. I hope this is that.

Fuck Uncharted give me more Last of Us

Hope it has more in common with Uncharted 2 than 3. 3 was a letdown after such an amazing game, but The Last of Us restored my faith in ND's abilities. That being said, Uncharted and the Souls games were probably my favorite IPs last gen, so if they announce Demon's Souls 2 in addition to this, and maybe more Last of Us, I'm pretty set.

I like Nathan Drake but if they rumours are true about this being Sir Francais Drake that would be an interesting way to keep the franchise going but radically change the gameplay, kinda like how the first Yakuza game for PS3 and the new one for PS4 are set during the Edo period and you play as an ancestor of the series hero.

that's not exactly true. After U2 Some devs went onto Last of Us, but the core team for uncharted and all the department leads stayed on for U3. At this point there are 2 teams. TLoU dlc is probably part of that team 2 while the rest of it works on either a sequel or new IP while team 1 makes this uncharted.

Couldn't care less that this is an obvious reveal. If this game comes out and is as solid as the last games, I will probably by a PS4 for it.

Oh yeah? The way I understood it, they formally split them up into separate teams and the best went to TLoU while the others worked on U3. If the folks who went off to make TLoU were just some random devs from within the whole, then they should be the leads on the new Uncharted game.

Ehh, was kinda hoping for the tradition of Naughty Dog making a new I.P trilogy on a new system.

This is definitely not Nathan Drake, so I assume its a descendant that lived in the 18th century? Would love an open sea uncharted a la AC4 but with the Naughty dog magic

Uncharted 2 is one of my favourite games of this generation, but still a bit dissapointed (if not exactly surprised). Would've loved a new IP from these guys. Here's hoping that it's at least very different from the triology, with a new set of characters, a new setting etc. I would be happy if it just takes the core ideas from the Uncharted franchise, and builds something new on that.
