I always wonder if the developers actually spend the time again and again to do these tricks. I mean the physics are there, but they are by no means real to life. Instead do you think they just program what they want the biker to do to pull off those amazing tricks for the trailer? And Yes, I have seen the youtube videos of people pulling off awesome stuff, but still it has to be faster to say. guy flips, front wheel lands on barrel, backflips to ramp. and let the computer process the timed button presses or whatever necessary to pull it off.

 It is sad, but I just dloaded the trial a few days ago.  It is so fun, but I have way too much on my gaming plate right now to justify buying another game.

I don't think they'd have to spend too much fime. They would be some of the best players in the world, after having made and tested every single level in the game. My bet is they just run through a couple of levels and grab the awesomest looking bits they could find. I bet none of the stunts in this trailer are particularly hard, and if they are indeed difficult to pull off, they were probably flukes. Happy, awesome-looking accidents happen all the time in games like this.
 
Having to program an AI that would basically interpolate between manually set keyframes in real-time by using the physics engine... sounds like a hell lot of work to make a single trailer look good. If they had the capability to create an AI like that, you can bet they would use it to have some sort of AI opponents in-game. It'd be a massive venture compared to the relative simplicity of the rest of the game. Even if they could make that, I can guarantee it would take much, much longer than just grabbing a few random replays off some tester's computer.

It's not really a trailer, it's just advertising.  I know, we don't often see straight up ads for games but they're out there.  Trials continues to sell gangbusters every week (63,400+ ratings at the moment), and it looks like this ad maybe cost them $200 to make in an afternoon...?  Now thousands more people that haven't thought about it in the last 7 months are thinking about it again, and willing to drop $15 or maybe more.  This is the case for why XBLA games can be priced at $15, because it has made a Million Damn Dollars, and most people can't even finish all the levels.

It's the same deal with "late" demos. The reason is always so simple: not everyone has bought it yet.

Watching the QL made me want to buy this game far more than this trailer.  It looks like if you are stuck on a track, you can go mindlessly launch your little ragdoll into a million pieces.  What a genius idea.
