The Final Giant Bomb Live Show of 2015

I watched some of Austin's extra life stream. Him talking philosophy was interesting as hell, but I pretty much checked out whenever he started focusing on the game. Austin is delightful in general though, I just really don't like one-man content (don't watch let's plays on youtube unless it's more than one person commentating, for instance).

Speaking as someone who played a lot of Bubsy as a child (after their parents bought it from the Blockbuster bargain bin for $6.99 in, like, 1995) and as someone who legitimately enjoys Bubsy because of said childhood brainwashing:

Bubsy is a bad video game franchise full of bad games that no one should pay real cash money for.

Who the hell Greenlit this nonsense? Clearly people who have never actually played the game and are caught in the ironic pro-Bubsy atmosphere stemming from the Arcade Kids' fan game.

To make matters worse, the Steam package for Bubsy is just a SNES9x emulator with roms.

Why yes. There IS anime Star Wars. Not just Star Wars - it's TIE Fighter the anime.

Sonic 3 & Knuckles was the most epic game I ever played at the time. The continuation from part 2, the betrayals and crazy hyper powers, to the Doomsday Zone showdown... what art!

I have been playing video games for around 30 years. I have never been motion sick while doing so until I watched this Turok video. Jesus. I forgot how terribly that mini-era of FPSes aged. They had the technology to do more avanced games than Doom and Duke Nukem but had no idea what to do with it or how to do it. Vast, empty levels, terrible platforming, hideous visuals... grim. Those older pre-3D FPSes are still great today, stuff like Turok though...

The crosshair actually made it worse somehow.

So it's really good then.

do they not make any bones about everything being played with an emulator now? i know it's not technically illegal, just seemed like they swept it under the rug a lot more in the past. also i don't think anyone gives a shit.

Ghost in the Shell would make a really great action/adventure game like Deus-Ex, but with more of a focus on hacking/some squad management.

As someone who never owned a Genesis or played those original Sonic games when they were new, Jeff's burning hatred of Sonic 3 has always been a little confusing. They re-drew his sprite. So...?

I totally didn't catch that hint. That's awesome. If they did video podcasts, I might actually listen to the podcast more than like four times a year.

That was a deep Dave Lang podcast music cut. That man is many things, but we can cross musician off the list.

so what is the back story for guilty gear? Crusade? Activation of I don't even know. I mean starting in media rea ok but ...and you should let austin do an anime podcast. Market segment the old Whiskey Media (yes been around that long) catered too that no one really does now. Would get you more clicks and as we all know tis all about the clicks!

As far as I know it- track rotation (like a map in a FPS), everyone does time attack at the same time, it keeps track of who has the best time. After some time it skips to the next track. People host their own servers so they put their own music on it. Immediate restarts when you screw up (like Super Meat Boy). The way Jeff talks about it, it seems kind of soothing to just fire it up and make a few runs.

And people do make tracks, I think its module-based where you piece it together.
