The Kickstarter-Funded Shadowrun Returns Looks Pretty Good

I like magic. I like guns. Not sure how I feel about machines. I'll blow stuff up, though.

I have to admit I'm really excited for this... this was the first thing that made me excited for a Kickstarter project.

Honestly even more than just the game itself I am looking forward to what kind of great content the community puts out!

This should be pretty cool even though I have no previous experience with the Shadowrun franchise.

As excited as I am for the game itself. I'm even more excited to see what mods/story scenarios the community will make with the game editor.

I ran paper and pencil Shadowrun in high school and college. It's probably my absolute favorite table top RPG. I am looking forward to this and will likely pick it up sometime this year (my backlog is huge -- curse you Steam!!). I can't say I wouldn't have preferred a more Bethesda-like game, but I'm grateful for any Shadowrun RPG at this point.

Didn't back this one, but will buy it after it releases if it's good.

I'm a little concerned that the Unity-built games are all kinda looking the same. We'll see.

This is going to be a turn-based strategy game? I had no idea. I thought gameplay was going to be similar to Shadowrun for the SNES. Totally psyched either way.

I am a HUGE fan of the Shadowrun FPS. Never played any of the classic games, but I'm really looking forward to this.

Not with the budget they had ... as a backer following the project they did the absolutely best they could with the money they had. And they made an editor so there will be user created content.

Also: High Five for Shadowrun ... I ADORE that system.

I gotta admit, as much as I love the concept, I have to wait for reviews on this one. The whole user generated content part of it, much as that's a positive, it has me a bit spooked about how deep the actual game / campaign will be. Also, 'this first version that we're shipping this summer' from their demo video just sounds too ominous.

I want it to be like Planescape; deep storyline and world building and dialogue trees to make the eventual combat matter - but I'm worried it'll be more like Fallout Tactics; combat-focused and mission-based.

All will be revealed in a couple days!
