I can't put my finger on it but this game does but doesn't look good. Looks like it'll be another year where I don't buy a WWE game. I guess that's not entirely a bad thing.

The sooner Visual Concepts can just develop this on their own and take it away from Yuke's, the better. How these characters, whose faces they scan in in order to obtain accuracy, keep looking like hot garbage year in and year out, is beyond me.

Hell, Sasha Banks got scanned in for the game, but neither her, or ANY of the "Four Horsewomen" are in the game, even as DLC. That includes your new Divas Champion, Charlotte.

We need wrestling hall-of-famer Robocop to complete this package.

I feel like the game looked kinda ok last year by virtue of it being the first in the series on more powerful consoles, but boy, one year later it looks like absolute shit.

And that's on top of the ever-present bad gameplay.

@jayc4life: This is nothing new every year there is always a Superstar / Diva / Faction missing because of the cut off point it sucks but that's how it is, you could argue for the games to be Released every 2 years instead of annually giving more time for contracts and licensing etc to be finalised but 2k are not likely to do that I wouldn't be surprised if the WWE had some say as to whether it's annually or not.

the games will always be slightly better or worse versions of the game before it so its best to accept that and either never look at them or get excited for no reason and buy it and enjoy it for what it is.

@terranova: The annoying thing is, is that there are NXT people in the game, and the cut off point was well before NXT Takeover: Rival's Fatal 4 Way for the NXT Women's Championship, which many thought at that point was one of the best women's matches WWE has ever put on. You could have made the argument about their omission had this happened after their usual cut-off period (WrestleMania), but this was before that, so they should have really seen this situation coming.

Plus, I like how 2K's comment on the matter was basically "We REALLY wanted to put them in the game, but SOMEONE didn't think to negotiate videogame likeness licensing rights in Divas contracts, so if you're blaming anyone, blame WWE's lawyers" without actually straight up saying it.

it's the lighting, all the character models seem detailed enough but the lighting makes the game look flat.

I think you missed his point. Sasha was scanned for the game long before the cutoff point (which is usually shortly after Wrestlemania). There is literally no reason for her not to be in there, other than someone didn't want her in there. Even as DLC.

It's always about the create modes in these games for me, As long as I can create wrestlers, factions, rings, belts, & stories... Harlem Heat vs Hulk Hogan, the NWO vs the ECW Dudleys, and women of GLOW vs the WCW Nitro Girls I'm cool with it.. I might play this in between breaks of Halo, Destiny, and Fallout.... The problem with these games is that mix tag matches and other gimmick matches never seems to stay year to year..

You are high if you think the audience for this game isn't way more familiar with Sasha Banks than they are with Bam Bam Bigelow.

Still not gonna consider buying these games until they get someone else besides Yukes to develop a WWE game. I was hoping for some change when Take-Two picked up the rights from THQ, but this looks like the same old shit.

Also the real answer to all of this is that Bam Bam, along with several other classic wrestlers in this game, are just holdovers they'd already made for previous games. Why else would General Adnan be on the roster this year?

The Showcase mode stuff seems like it's always the centerpiece of every year's offering, and I just can't get into that stuff at all. I've got the Network, I can watch that stuff whenever I want, simulating it step-by-step doesn't do much for me. Also, D'Lo Brown isn't much of a band-aid for me to ignore that I just don't find the actual gameplay to be very fun, and I love D'Lo Brown.

Yup the lighting is flat as hell. Same old gameplay it seems. Until another studio gets a fresh shot at wrestling (with built-from-scratch new systems) I'll keep watching these from the sidelines. They've never been great.
