Yay!

I though it was weird that they didn't show something like this with that name.

This should greatly spice up the campaign, more so imo then just 2-3 new alien enemies. Feels way way more robust now. Excited.

Edit:

Is it me or does the initial shot of the bad dudes make them look quite similar to the Xcom: Declassified agents, clothes + backpack. Also they have some of the "snake men" features, eyes and skin. So if I had to venture a guess the 50's Xcom operation got put under certain alien's control (which also makes sense with Declassified ending) and are now carrying out their own agenda, it being not the same agenda as the alien scout force would then also make a lot of sense.

This ties in to the 3rd person shooter in a way.

Weird how they all dress like they're out of the 50's

Sgt. Slaughter is a hero, that's what he wanted you to think. He loved his country so much that he'd take the fall.

Metal Gear Solid 3, is what I'm saying again.

Cool, looks like the the cross pollination from this and the Bureau is continuing. First the Outsiders, now this. I can't wait to unlock a particularly spry 80 year old veteran of the alien wars.

Now THIS is what I'm talking about.

@tennmuerti: there's a pretty in-depth article about how these dudes work on Joystiq. Seems they're more genetic fetishists or something.

I inadvertently spoiled this for myself last week when I read the updated achievement list on steam. This trailer is much cooler than what I had pictured in my head.

I really hope it's E.X.A.L.T. and not just Exalt. I like evil acronyms.

Honestly, the apparent tie-in with The Bureau seems like a potentially huge misstep. Keep that nonsense out of the real XCOM games. Why are the rebellious human's still dressed like its the 1950s? Even if they are a secret rogue agency, they probably would have updated their dress-code at some point.

And if its something "clever" like they've been frozen, or just got off a spaceship or something, just, don't even bother.

Edit: Ok, well, from the QL:EX, they're apparently just dapper fellas. Cool, I guess?

Eh, I didn't get much of a Bureau vibe from the rebels. If anything, they reminded me more of the Agents from the original Syndicate, what with the cloth wrapped around the lower half of their faces, the blank stare, and the perpetually-angry look.

Maybe making The Bureau guys the bad guys seems appropriate given the general receptions of the game.

And I'm calling it now, they time traveled from The Bureau era to steal technology from the future and bring it back.

It wouldn't take much to get me to play this again. I loved XCOM last year. I can't wait to revisit. The new stuff is really just icing for me.

Watching the endings of the Bureau, if you complete the game as the lady, she ends up killing everyone, nuking towns, euthanizing civilians to keep the Outsiders a secret. Sounds like that philosophy meshes with Exalt's description of completing their objective regardless of loss of human life.

@mikejflick: I don't see how this doesn't spice things up given that the initial reveal of this expansion gave the impression that there wasn't a new campaign and that all the were adding were like 3 new units. Now this comes along and basically addresses pretty much all the problems people had from the initial announcement. It looks like a number of people are more interested in this now as a result of this trailer, so I don't see how it's not spicing things up.

I can't believe this didn't share any of this at the PAX panel last month. Mind-boggling really considering the luke-warm reception it got when people thought it was just a few new units and maps.

I was probably still going to get it (but not at $30) just for the new stuff in a game I haven't played in a while but c'mon seriously?
