Monolith is definitely the best 3 bucks I ever spent, and I'm not a roguelike kinda guy at all (Darkest Dungeon is also great though). I have about 30 hours into it, which is not bad considering a run takes about 30 min. I never finished it though, couldn't beat the last boss. Also missed the update, because there's definitely some stuff here in the vid i haven't seen yet. Might have to reinstall...

Not only is BallisticNG totally "inspired" by WipeOut. Even the studio name Neognosis is straight up a a riff on Psygnosis (now SCE Studio Liverpool) who made WipeOut

@dryker: I would say get to reducin’ then. Ben’s the man and I can’t fathom how his presence could impose on your enjoyment of the content. To each their own, for sure. I just can’t see it. I think he fits so well with the West crew.

@gstatusray: i dunno, ben comes off to be as being pretty fake. a lot of the times he contradicts shit he says.

you can catch moments of it. i remember one upf when he said he watched the blair witch and then a few upfs afterward he proclaimed he never saw it as they were playing through the shitty game. he essentially just says whatever he needs to, to fit in.

@nonstopiggypop: look i can take a lot of criticism, and a lot of people have brought up things that bother them (yelling, swearing) that i have actively been working on, but i am damn proud of my laugh. everyone in my family has the same laugh. i love it, and wouldn’t change it for anyone.

@benpack: As someone who went through some serious emotional shit growing up that led to almost never laughing, and now have a laugh that people poke fun at for sounding off, don't let anyone ever take anything away from you showing happiness/humor/etc. While you already seem to know this, your laugh is yours and is great.

Man, I'll never understand all the hate that Ben seems to get from some people. He's funny, he seems genuine (NO idea why anyone thinks he's "fake"), and he's a darn good gamer on top of it. Constructive criticism has its place, and of course everyone's entitled to their own opinions, but a lot of the time it just feels like personal attacks, and that's not cool. You keep doing you, Ben!

Love when comments devolve into "I don't like this trend of this person" or "I wish they did this instead" I also love the claim of someone being fake because they've said contradictory things on video.

Is there anything to that sausage game or am I better off getting my sausage game fix from Hotdogs, Horseshoes & Handgrenades with its zombie sausage roguelite mode?

@quasiconundrum: just to play devils advocate for a second here it’s equally weird when folks ask “how could you not like XYZ?!” It’s like people have lived their entire lives without ever encountering another human being they just did not jive with.

Of course at the end of the day just saying you don’t like a cast member isn’t productive. It’s just something you have to deal with on your own. Constructive criticism is great but typically not well received (more-so by other site users than the staff).

I always enjoy reading the Giant Bomb comments to make me feel better that I am not some of these people lmao

They should do this feature on a regular schedule. I do enjoy seeing a bunch of random Steam indies, obscure midbudget titles, and dubious Japanese fanservice games in a row. It's like a UPF but just the games.

Fyi constructive criticism can't apply to the people of Giant Bomb. None of us actually know them on a personal level, and they're not in some horrible situation where they need to change themselves. Everyone is so fucking dramatic. I get it, the way we connect to personality content can dictate how we feel about the people on a minuscule level but it doesn't actually matter. Decent people don't lose their shit at family members/friends who annoy them. You talk it out, honestly. If you don't like someone on Giant Bomb, learn to live with it or move on to another site.

I mean, there's no "comparison" because they're all on the same website, work for the same business, and are friends with the same people (including their other-coast co-workers). This "Team East / West" business is silly.

I should know by now not to bother reading the comments on a GB video, but here I am, shaking my head... Making me feel like my grandpa. :P

New Retro Arcade Neon. It allows for VR, moddable with all your own stuff, and a billion times better than the Unity asset import that Coin Game is. They played it years ago on UPF (2015 or2016 I believe). It’s really cool in VR, and they since added a lot and also multiplayer

Yakuza movie is awful. It cuts so much plot out from the game then adds some stupid sub plot about these petty teenage thieves for no reason.

That Elderborn game looks like someone took the melee combat from Skyrim and thought it could support an entire action game.

@dasakamov: They make different content which can be compared. A Jar Time video can even be compared to a solo Jeff Quick Look, even though it’s the same single person in both videos.

I hope you guys give The Coin Game another look at some point, that was easily the most intriguing looking game in this lineup.

A fun stream, lots of good riffing and some interesting games.

And everyone has their own opinions I guess but I have been thrilled with everyone GB has brought on over the years.

The only thing wrong with Ben is his opinion of the Fast Nine trailer. 😂

Kind of bummed that they didn't give UnderMine much of a shot at all. Didn't even do any upgrades or anything, which is half the point of being run-based like that.

Also not sure why they had Ben play Elderborn when he already knew that he hated the game. :/

Funny. "Savant: Ascent" came out in 2014 and was supposed to come out on PS4. It still has not.

I once heard a story of a chain reaction of people throwing up and it landing on another person's face on one of those stand-up, stuck to the wall rides. I never want to go on one of those now.

Also, my mom almost died on a carnival ride. I'm not sure if it's just a rumor but I always heard here in Texas that those overnight carnivals (where my mom almost died) were built by local inmates as part of a federal program. That is so messed-up on so many levels if true. Would love more info on that if any know of it.
