Love dark souls but here is my pattern. Game release, watch streams for a month, wait a year for patches/GOTY edition, play it.

I've only watch the first 30 or so minutes, but it seems like the changes they've made to stats and stamina systems are super wonky. I donno. I kind of feel after seeing Demon's Souls, Dark Souls 2, and Bloodborne a lot of the clever design stuff in Dark Souls was kind of a fluke.

That weird fucking statue boss is pretty fucking cool though.

Sorry about blabbing about stream issues @vinny. I actually installed a trial version of Wirecast and tried to recreate it. It did the same thing for me, that it doesn't report the correct framerate in the metadata for the video stream. It's 6000 instead of 60, 5994 instead of 59.94 and so on. I managed to fix it with a command line option for x264 that you can put in the encode settings window ("--fps 59.94" when FPS is set to 59.94) to make it show up correctly.

This doesn't happen with the MainConcept codec.

I still don't know if that's causing hitching or it's just a matter of setting 59.94 instead of 60. It helped if that's what you did.

You seemed to have set it at 59.97, though (showed up as 5997), but it was good enough to not to bother you anymore.

tldr; Blame the streaming software.

I've been following this issue for months and whenever it came up the framerate reported by VLC was 6000. This leads me to believe that it happens only with this specific setup/software. Do you change the streaming box sometimes?

Man, everyone and their mother seems to be playing this game today. Making my wait till April 12th almost unbearable. I will look forward to watching this video in 3 weeks. Very much want to go in as blind as possible.

Man, I really want to get the PC version, but seeing this build be kinda a broken mess is a real bummer.

Sucks this game seems so broken, i hope they accidentally sent the wrong build or something. With bloodborne not being that old you'd think they could get this game into working order before shipping? I guess there is still time.

Did...did they change the voice actor of the Crestfallen Warrior? That's my favourite NPC. They better not have, but it looks like they did. He's the most consistent part of the Souls worlds.

These type of games are quickly reaching a saturation point.
