Just bought this out of self resentment. Don't know why otherwise. This looks so rad even though I'm not a DBZ fan, and I like the idea of fighting games, but I'm very very terrible at them.

Re: Gohan going from being a little bitch baby to a badass overnight, the show explicitly calls out that 6 months have gone by between the previous episode and the next episode. So you go from seeing Gohan on basically the first two days of living alone in the wilderness, to 6 months later. The transition is extremely jarring, but it's not supposed to be like Gohan got all badass overnight.

I feel bad for Jeff there are some major spoilers in here for him but he probably doesn't care.

Is kind of mean that Ben doesnt tell Jeff beforehand that some of the character matches are big spoilers.

Yes! This game has hooked me like few other fighting games in comparison.

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU -SION~ HA! I remember doing that in the middle of the hallway between classes in like 9th grade.

Also there's a solid chunk of Gohan-surviving filler that Kai completely skips. I would take skipping that filler over showing it any day of the week, but it does make things a bit jarring for someone who has never seen any Dragonball before.

Something I never see brought up - how old is Piccolo Jr? I know it's not quite the same story, but still, how old is he?

After Piccolo is finished training him, Gohan acts and talks like someone a decade older than he actually is. I've been watching Kai and there are occasions where I have to remind myself that this kid is supposed to be five years old. Even stranger that before that training, he actually acts like a four year old. What's even stranger is that Goten and Trunks, in what I've seen of Super, should look and act a little older than they do.

Also, teen Gohan isn't actually a teen. He's eleven when he fights Cell. He just looks like a teenager.

You can explain all this away by observing that saiyans seem to mature much faster than humans - after all, one of their infants are expected to be able to destroy entire civilizations of intelligent, but weaker beings - but the real reason is that Dragonball, Akira Toriyama, and anime in general aren't very good at making kid characters act their age. I can believe that a sixteen year old like, say, Edward Elric can act and think on his own, but I've been watching Kai and I keep having to remind myself that oh yeah, this kid's FIVE YEARS OLD. I don't think about it too awful much because Dragonball Z has enough goofiness and insanity (and plot holes) to drown such details out.

I've never been able to sink my teeth into a 3v3 game OR an anime fighter, but they have made this damn game SO accessible, I'm not only in, but I'm doing WELL.

I like how Jeff has become kind of more knowledgeable about Dragonball than Ben after watching just six episodes. Probably doesn't help that Ben's info seems to be entirely half remembered. It makes for a fun dynamic.

Ben...Ben please stop spoiling Dragon Ball. You're not remembering most things correctly anyway. You're Dragon Ball knowledge is really just not as great as you might think lol. Also, Goku Black is a very recent character. His arc really only just began in the english release of Dragon Ball Super like last week. The reveal that you spoiled won't be aired for at least another month or two.

I know Dragon Ball isn't the most popular thing in the world, but would you read the wiki of Stranger Things or Game of Thrones and just announce all that you've read on video?

I actually don't like the idea of the having guests much at all on the All Systems Goku. I m ean unless it was someone else joining in and watching along as well like Brad but that is different.

Why do all these things have to have guests? Sorta ruined that one episode of fast and furious for me honestly but I just think at some point this series would be better without guests except for maybe super rare exceptions way down the line. Some of the talk in here kind of makes me realize why that is the case I get you won't get some purity of experience but a lotta careless spoiler chat in this

Am I the only one to think that Ben and Jeff have great synergy? The way joke to each other comes off very sincere, like they've doing it for years.
