Overview
EVE Burst Error was created by C's Ware and was written and produced by the late Hiroyuki Kanno with the soundtrack composed by the late Ryu Umemoto. The game is a "Multi-Sight Adventure Game" where two different protagonists, a private investigator named Kojiroh and intelligence agent named Marina, provide different perspectives on the story. This "Multi-Sight" system allows the player to switch between both protagonists at any time during the game and often requires the player to have both protagonists co-operate with each other at various points during the game.
The title was initially developed and released for the NEC PC-98 on November 11, 1995 with enhanced ports later being released for the Sega Saturn and PC in 1997, featuring redrawn artwork and voice acting. Eventually EVE Burt Error saw an English release in 1999 courtesy of Himeya Soft USA, who published the title on their online store, which later saw a re-release in 2012 from MangaGamer. Eve Burst Error would go on to spawned an entire franchise of sequels beginning in 1998 with the Saturn release of Eve: The Lost One. The only Eve sequel to be localized was the series' third installment, ADAM: The Double Factor.
