    Overview

Wasteland 3 is a party-based role-playing game developed by inXile Entertainment and published by Deep Silver for PC, Mac, Linux, Xbox One, and PlayStation 4. It is a sequel to Wasteland 2 and features a new dialogue system, a player vehicle, cooperative play, and an expansive Ranger base.

    Story

Following the destruction of a major Ranger headquarters in Arizona, the surviving members of Team November receive a communication from a man known as The Patriarch, who leads a survivor enclave in Colorado. The Patriarch promises aid for the Rangers if they help him deal with his three estranged children who are vying for control of his territories.

    Gameplay

Wasteland 3 is a party-based role-playing game played from an isometric perspective. Players control a 6-person party consisting of up to 4 Rangers and 2 companions. Rangers can be selected from a pool or created by the player; both Rangers and companions have their own skill trees, abilities, and stats that are upgraded as they level up.

The game's setting of Colorado consists of large self-contained areas linked by an open world. The open world is traversed using an all-terrain vehicle called the Kodiak that can be upgraded with weapons and armor. During exploration, the player can encounter ambushes and scavenge supplies.

Dialogue in Wasteland 3 heavily features skill checks and moral choices. These choices can have impacts on the world by opening or closing off certain areas and altering the party's reputation with various factions.

Combat is turn-based and features a cover system and environmental effects. During combat encounters in the open world, the Kodiak acts as an additional party member, able to be remotely controlled to shoot and run over enemies.
